Don't you understand ? Shame on you, sir! Shame!!!!! There is no such thing what you've said about me by insinuation that could compare to the worst. You are not being civilized. You are the precise example of why you are contrtibutive toward this nonsense that is the idea of moral equivalency. 'Everyone's a winner'. We're all the same! That moral non morality. Look, Morality is about reality. It means we got to do 'stuff' to make other 'stuff' get done. The weakness in some of you needs correcting. This is an example of why WHY the mystic 'jeffrey' view or the 'communist' view or the 'fascist' view. isn't right. You've got to get the morality down to reality, folks. ok i would first like to appologise to any readers that may find some of my examples in previous posts to be exccesive and extreme, im not trying to make anyone feel ill or anything, but when daling with belief systems of any kind they need to be taken to the extremes to see if they still stand up to scrutiny. i would also like to appologise that our banter has virtually hijacked this thread, i assure you that it wasnt intentional, the lines between certain threads have blurred a little, and i for one shall correct my behavior as much as possible. im sure scary would agree that WE are still comfortable with the level of conflict in our conversations, sometimes it needs to go that extra mile to say what you mean. i guess we are just extra thick skinned, and even the personal insults dont really mean anything, i just hope no one else takes offence. im sure this post may even be considered 'weak' by scary because im thinking of others over myself, lol as to my feelings on the thread topic, i have already stated that i agree it is a tragedy, and although it may have been a factor i dont think it was because of any particular religion. if anything it was political, and in a religious hotspot, religion is a great smoke screen. i promise to stay on topic from now on =D |

Perhaps the Pakistanis didn't want Mr. 10 percent back. Didn't Ms. Bhutto leave the country under corruption charges? And a political party with a life long head doesn't sound too democratic to me. The PPP just seems like a "front" for keeping one family in power. That is not a democratic notion to me. The only way political power has changed throughout Pakistan's existence is with murder. So what is new there? Just being rotten to start the new year. |

Oooo Ooo! Most of us haven't had explosives to hand but the history of atheists, christians, americans, brits, aussies, kiwis....whatever is not so pure. We have done our share of vile acts. It doesn't mean those few Muslims who do evil acts should be forgiven but it does mean that we should not feel so self-righteous. (PS: The IRA did blow off the knee caps of people and quite often had it's own operatives explode along with their bombs... Not always but that is the reality... But I wouldn't blame everyone from Eire for the IRA's actions... Why blame every Muslim for the actions of political groups or criminals.) |

The majority of the Irish people spoke out against it all. As already pointed out in this thread, the muslim moderates won't speak out, & should we non-muslim speak out, muslims label us racist. As Ireland has proved, should the moderates gain courage & speak out vehemently, then maybe matters will change for the best. |

We should all speak out but we should not label everyone as the enemy. My city was attacked so many times by the IRA. I understood their political desires but I had no power to make Ireland free. I still think they should not have attacked me and my family and neighbours but for all our loss and fear I would not have blamed all the Irish. We should speak out but if we are the good ones we need to not simply hate. That's my way of being. I'm just sharing it. |

Why blame every Muslim for the actions of political groups or criminals. I don't believe that all people who fear are bigots no more than I believe all Muslims are terrorists. I think it's better for us to only target those who damage us than we try blame everyone. |

Jeffrey and Crunchy and others that seem to sympathisize with terrorists and refuse REFUSE to renounce those acts have got the issue all turned around. The issue is not if 'ALL ' muslims or 'all' Irish...whatever are terrorists and blow up little babies all the time. The issue is the ideas and the FUNDAMENTAL practice in reality of what is done. Damn! You people spent too much time in sophistry and religious classes instead of logic 101. The United States and Interpol have foiled 24 MAJOR islamic plots this past few years. Many more successful ones were carried out overseas, Jeffrey...killing thousands. I don't get too afraid of a Christian sitting next to me on a plane. See? This is called being rational. Jeffrey and Crunchy and others that seem to sympathisize with terrorists and refuse REFUSE to renounce those acts have got the issue all turned around. OK Scary Capitalist. Since you named me and want to put me on the spot here is my response: No I do not sympathise with terrorists. No I would never blow up or murder a child or any other human being. No I have no greater love for religious or spiritual people than I do for capitalists or philosophists. Please don't try and make a fool out of me 'Scary Capitalist'. ... I guess I am happy for you. I sit on public transport every day which means that for every one christian you sit next to on your plane I sit next to hundreds of people I have no idea what their religions are.. and I've never been killed or attacked yet!!! I'm glad you like your rational but why try to make fun of me. I can love my society without having to hate others. Please let me know if you have any other bizaar questions for me Scary Capitalist. . |

I don't get too afraid of a Christian sitting next to me on a plane. See? This is called being rational. No, it's called 'stereotyping'... And as a graduate of 'logic 101', you should already know that... ;) (Us graduates of 'sophistry and religious classes' know that this type of behavior is IRRATIONAL!) . Benazir Bhutto named Tipperary Peace Prize winner. Interesting that we should have discussed issues relating to Ireland earlier as the 'Tipperary Peace Prize' is an Irish commendation for peace.. . |

Don't you think rioting is speaking out? What about all the Pakistani's who set things on fire throughout the country. Were they not speaking out? They sure as hell were saying something. Mostly against the dictator that the USA supports. |

not sure about the rest of you, but im of a mind to live and let live, im aware that our only remainig 'super-power' has certain respnsibilities in the guardianship of our future, but i dont think it is right to dictate that ALL countries MUST be democracies, or various other policies that basicly involve sticking noses where they dont belong. most of these countries existed long before the usa and will more than likely still be there after. unless the people of those nations cry out of international help we should just leave them the hell alone. i am a fan of monarchy, in the past we have had bad rulers and good rulers, when things where good they were very good and we advanced in leaps and bounds, when things were bad, we generally just killed the monarch and moved on. monarchy is a form of dictatorship which has been perfectly acceptable for half the planet for many hundreds of years and lets face it democracy is no more the the perfected art of standing still. i hate voting for people, because they will always say what you want them to say, then get away with what they can, we NEED strong leaders and if that means losing a few freedoms to gain solidarity and forward momentum, so be it. im actually hoping that the British monarchy will disolve most of the powers of parliment at some point and take back the destiny of our proud nation. |
