Hello, this is my oldest WU, not as old as yours... Problem but why is the second result cancelled ? This one could not be redundant, because there is no other result ??? Greets Bernd |

Hello, Interesting, that computer has a slew of cancelled WU's with the explaination as redundant. |

Yep, we got over 1000 credits due, the oldest being in September, the others are between then an now. It appears your wingman on your Sept 19 WU is AWOL so it will probably get reissued some time after the expiration of Nov 21, and then at that point who know when the new wingman will crunch it. :-( |

Hello, The 2 results that have been reported by that host were under Boinc 5.10.13 and before the mass of results were cancelled. I would not be surprised if, when the next successful result is reported, it is under Boinc 5.10.28. Just a feeling in the waters. F. |

He has several computers ~8 or so and he is actively crunching on some of them and not on others so I'm not sure what his reasoning is. I guess a polite PM to him might help, it might be possible he doesn't know that machine isn't crunching. I have a remote computer that I rarely ever get to see, so if it stopped crunching for whatever reason on me it would be difficult to get it back up and running with any reasonable predictability on timing. [edit] At least he is still crunching SETI on other machines, so all may not be lost. [eoe] |

I just realized I didn't word my request properly. Please post your longest times here, no matter when they are. This will allow the admins to get an idea of any special dates/wu's that may be causing problems. Please pay special attention to wu's that are past their normal due date, have multiple reissues/errors, and/or issued to "awol" computers. Also post any pendings that may not be so old, but seem to be concentrated in large numbers. For instance you may have only one that is as old or older than others, but you may have twenty or more of a younger "age" which should have been credited. We all know that the pending credits is going to be larger due to the current quorum/initial replication and the longer deadlines, so please don't post huge lists with all of your pending work units! As a general rule use the return date where most (say 90%) of your wu's have already been credited to decide whether to add them to this list. Unless Eric or Matt or another project scientist jumps into this thread to ask for other criteria, I'm trying to gather evidence to show where the most delay in issuing credit lies. There may be rogue "evercrunch specials" still out, it may be found that "awol" computers are responsible, or some other reason may be found to cause the large pending credit. (And again, no definite reason may be found at all). Thanks for your help. Jim Some people plan their life out and look back at the wealth they've had. Others live life day by day and look back at the wealth of experiences and enjoyment they've had. |

Mine is only the 24th September, my wingman only has two units to do and it looks like he will not do them in time. They are due Friday the 16th, so there is a chance however I do not think it. If he only had two to do and has not do any. I have got one wingman that seems to be doing them by date as they have done others that came after mine. They have over 120 to do, to date. |

I still have the same ones I posted before, and some 30 or so from before October, but the ones that really bother me are the ones where the other computer isn't in the database anymore, ie. you click on the host id and get a can't find host message. It doesn't seem right to have to wait for a re-issue when the host isn't even around anymore. -Dave |

Has any of those unfortunate enough to have an August or older pending have it clear yet? |

Has any of those unfortunate enough to have an August or older pending have it clear yet? My August is still there. I don't expect any movement until the second wingman times out on 27 November (2007, thank goodness). |

Has any of those unfortunate enough to have an August or older pending have it clear yet? Yes, I had about 8 last week, now I'm down to 3, one won't get re-sent until Nov 26, one until Dec 5, and the third until Dec 1 - so I don't expect them to clear any time soon... -Dave |

Has any of those unfortunate enough to have an August or older pending have it clear yet? Mine did; now my oldest is from September 12, reissued on November 8 with a January 4 deadline; I also have three from late September. |

I also have three from late September. Well, my absolute oldest was reported by me on October 1, so I cannot claim the oldest (yet). However, I am still concerned about database growth and what this extra stuff hanging out there does to the speed of queries... I don't know if that's a legitimate concern or not, as I don't know if the replication change down to 2 offset it or not. Anyway, my little sarcastic experiment of processing Latest Deadline First (LDF mode) on my AMD didn't increase my pendings all that much because I was paired with systems that were turning stuff back in fairly quickly. The larger share of my pending credit seems to happen with, quite strangely, my slower Intel system. Dunno what to say about that....... Edit: I just picked up new work on my AMD and was issued three results that are marked _2, so I'm going to work on those first after my current unit has been completed, just because I'm that nice... I'm pretty sure my wingman is awol and my September 12 one will be reissued after Nov 18th when it expires. |

I'm pretty sure my wingman is awol and my September 12 one will be reissued after Nov 18th when it expires. Well, I'm fairly sure that it's not me, I had a laptop blow up on me two days after reenabling seti on it, (early/mid october) and just managed to get it running today (11/17/07); it cancelled all except 4 WUs due 11/21/07 when I reconnected a couple of hours ago, and as long as it keeps running those should work. (approx 25hr/WU estimated time). I had tried to figure out how to cancel the workunits without the computer running about a month ago, but I was not able to figure out how to do this, even though I knew the workunit #'s. This is the first time this has happened to me since I started Seti in 1999! Good luck w/ your WU(s). Scott R |

I'm pretty sure my wingman is awol and my September 12 one will be reissued after Nov 18th when it expires. Not to worry, it's not you. Glad to hear you're up and running again. Happy crunchin'. |
