How much do your everyday bits n pieces cost local to you?

What do these things cost you?

* In the UK a quality loaf of sliced packaged bread cost me about £1+.

* A cup of tea in my local cafe' will cost me near £0.70p.

Choose your own items...

What do your everyday items cost you?

(Use your local currency and measurements...)

(It's not a competition.)

I don't know if they have Starbucks in the UK but you can spend a good $2.50 on something as simple a a cup of coffee. I rarely go to Starbucks because the prices are ridiculous in my opinion. Plus they have a tip jar by the cash register. I will not tip a person for pouring me a cup of coffee at a check out counter. Having said all that though, I regularly pay $2.03 (USA dollars) for a cup of coffee (16 oz) and a donut at the local convience store.

We do have Starbucks in the UK though they may not mean the same as they do in the USA.

In the UK they are mostly located in city centres and sell themselves as "quality" coffee houses..

I don't go to Starbucks but I suspect a large cup of coffee will cost around £1.30+ ($2.50+)..

Probably similar to where you are!

In NYC a Starbucks Tall Java Chip Frappuccino is $4.75+ tax.

BTW... Tall = Small

I buy 8'oclock whole bean coffee for about $3 a 12oz bag. You can't beat freshly ground coffee. It is the best.

I usually have a Monster Energy and a fruitpie for breakfast, sandwich for lunch, and eat some type of take out for dinner....about $10-20 total.

I'll be darned. When I do coffee I do the Columbian 8 o'clock whole bean...and I agree, you just can't beat fresh ground.

I'll try it when I find a good coffee maker. It better be worth every cent. :D

I skip the middle man and buy the Starbucks Sumatra Whole Bean Coffee at Kroger. Grind one cup at a time. If they could figure out a way to reseal the bags, that would be great.

There's a "chain" of three stores in NYC (Porto Rico) that sells beans by the pound, I have my own mix, 50% brazilian santos/50% french mocha, the santos is lightly roasted so it's high in caffiene, the french mocha is a dark roast, which adds bitterness, costs about $6/lb. Worth every penny. A mug of that and a bowl of Alpen is my typical breakfast (Alpen is about $4 for a small box here).

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

It doesn't have the kick of some of the Monster products, but a very tasty, sweet, chilled cream and sugar coffee thingy. If you like that, get several, it goes down very quickly!

Hm, had to look up the actual conversion first since the USD is loosing vs CZK on a daily base and even the € is loosing lately. A cup of coffe (22CZK) was about $1 a few months ago and is now about 1.20 $ a beer (0,5L 17-28 CZK) starts from around 1$ and an escalope with french fries costs about $5,40. Cost for Fuel is about 1.65$ / L and a 2L bottle of coke can be bought at special offer price usually around 1$ - usual price around 1.50 $.

Have to stop now because I have to get a haircut for 3.80 $ ;)

Some people are spendthrifts, others are misers and many are in-between. When I go to the grocery I look for savings. One can pay $13.00 for 114 doses of psyllium, but I've been payimg only about $4.75 for that bottle. One can spend $4.50 for a latté but for me, that'll buy 72- 200mg caffeine tablets (36 if not on sale). I break them up because caffeine is not supposed to be good for you. I have a 2000 Ford Focus. That's good enough. I don't need a Ferrari because the maximum speed limit around here is 70 mph (113 kph). Often one can't go the speed limit because of traffic and slow drivers. I'm satisfied with my $225 standard definition TV that I bought in 1998. I don't need hidef. A lot of those TVs are only halfway, anyway (720p). Maybe in six or seven years most will be 1080p and much cheaper. By then most programming might be 1080p. I stay away from the lottery and out of casinos. What a great way to lose money!!!
