Sounds like you must work for NASA. Just givin' up on what could be the greatest discovery in mankind's history. It takes time and in your 14 days, you would'nt know if your work units even found anything. there is checking and double checking and checking again. That takes time too. Hang in there, some of us have been here for years. And as for the fourm, I have learned much from the minds that post here. I will be here till the end. The people here are some of the best minds in in astronamy and science. I look forward to reading there thought's on science. Give us a chance.......

I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a "brilliant mind in science" (man, I wish!) - but I do have truck-loads of unwavering enthusiasm. I'm slowly expanding my knowledge base - I frequently engage in personal study, for FUN!

I'll never quit supporting the search! I really love the people involved, and I love all the cool cats who post in these forums. Astronomy and exobiology are the two most exciting subjects I can possibly fathom. We'll find something eventually, James! In the meantime, we can converse and interact in these awesome forums. Radical!

LMAO!!! I'm in stitches.

I won't bother asking him to ever help look for my car keys! Haha.

ET won't be found over night. It takes plenty of time.

Look how long I have been here for. But I am dedicated to the project and I will keep going on.

Besides there are people/user/crunchers here that I kind of like.

Never surrender and never give up. In the darkest hour there is always hope.

Think yourself lucky - there are people here who have been crunching for over 1400 days and they still haven't found the public lavatory...

I hope you realise we hid ET.

No one is allowed to find him until their 15th day of crunching!

Are we actually doing something useful with data we crunch? Or is it a case of keeping the natives happy by giving them something to do?

We could have already found E.T. and we'd never know it.

It has been suggested before that the data that has been collected over the last 7 years has just been stored and nothing actually done with it. This is supposed to be down to basic lack of funding for the project. I have no firm evidence one way or the other, just repeating hearsay...

I see, Chris. Yeah, I've actually heard the same rumor myself. To be honest, I'm really happy to support the project - even if the results are being filed and forgotten. Someday they'll process the data. Even if they don't, it's the thought that counts! I can't help but be blindly optimistic when it comes to this subject. Along with my nostalgia/love for '80s movies, it's my very strongest passion!

By the way, have you heard any updates on the funding issue? I'll be making my donation shortly - and these donations will increase in frequency and magnitude in tandem with my sales/success. I have a good feeling about the future. I think things will pick up fairly soon!
