. . . check out the layout from Your BOINC Manager's: Your Account

like that better?

Still not what I recommended to David. But what do I, the Forum Guru AKA Mr. Sociable, know about such things.

Well...they just made another change.....
It doesn't get rid of the friends' pics, but at least it keeps your account data towards the top on the left hand side, so less scrolling is needed to get to the various links related to your account. An acceptable compromise if the pics are there to stay.

It's different every time I look. Are they having trouble making their minds up?

I've noticed the boinc manager direct link sometimes leaves the browser in a state where it just shows empty boxes....as in the 'reply' button..., the avatar things on the side etc.

I've even noticed that it seems to interfere with my other IE open browsers. Of course, could be my particular puter.

Some strange cat decided to let itself in and make a home underneath my computer desk chair. There you go! That's what's needed more at the seti cafe! More random cats! They eat tuna.

I refuse to buy the 'dolphin free' tuna also. It's part of my eeeeeevil persona.

More like some mangy beast wandered in because he left the door open. Not much "blessing" involved.

Awwww you've got a new kitty?

You better check up on if she's missing from somewhere in the neighborhood before you take her in as yours.

And you are totally right, the kitties don't care about dolphins, they just want some treats. Tuna it is...

. . . one may find Descartes’ Rainbows of interest:

If an emotion is a collection of changes in a body state connected to particular mental images that have activated a specific brain system, the essence of feeling an emotion is the experience of such changes in juxtaposition to the mental images [Eds. note: I would of course prefer: 'processes'] that initiated the cycle.
Antonio Damasio - Descartes' 'Error: Emotion, Reason, and The Human Brain'

(René Descartes’ diagram describing the arc of the rainbow)

...emotion doesn't precede or follow action- it is the bodily support that a class of actions requires. Language, of course, is just one of the classes of action that emotions support.
Jay Efran, Michael Lukens, Robert Lukens - 'Language, Structure, Change'

By focusing on the problem of true and certain knowledge, Descartes had made epistemology,

the question of the relationship between mind and world, the starting point of philosophy . . .
