Message 691800 - Posted: 15 Dec 2007, 17:19:28 UTC - in response to Message 691226.

What this cafe needs is more people with an open mind, without having to bicker about threads, and pictures, and kitty threads, or too many threads. Its the cafe folks, enjoy it, a few key entry's and clicks of a mouse, and the forums are gone.

Lets get back to peace, and happiness. :-) Thank you for listening.

I'll second that. And third....and fourth......etc., etc., etc..

"Responsibility does not only lie with the leaders of our countries or with those who have been appointed
or elected to do a particular job. It lies with each of us individually.
Peace, for example, starts within each one of us.
When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us."

Five Short Chapters on Change

Chapter 1.
I walk down a street and there's a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. It takes forever to get out. It's my fault.

Chapter 2.
I walk down the same street. I fall in the hole again. It still takes a long time to get out. It's not my fault.

Chapter 3.
I walk down the same street. I fall in the hole again. It's becoming a habit. It is my fault. I get out immediately.

Chapter 4.
I walk down the same street and see the deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.

Chapter 5.
I walk down a different street.

What we need is :

!. The ability to see our own foults, and to take responsibility for them.
2. The forgiveness for ourself and all others.
3. The braveness to choose a new path.
4. The sharing of love with everyone - not depending on "deservance".
5. The knowledge of the moment as the only existence.

Have a nice time, everyone.. ;-)

I'm going to be a bit kookie here.

The "Dalai Lama" ran from his country when the Chinese appointed 'leaders' took over his lands. He ran even though thousands of his people and monks suffered and died.

It seems responsibility never laid with the "Dalai Lama".

He ran away from the consequences of his position.

The only people who faced 'responsibility' in Tibet were those who stayed and stood up and said they believed in their cultural, religious, personal or political values.

However the 'Dalai Lama' is right: 'Responsibility for our world belongs to us' - But if we wish to create or become our own leaders and depose those who should not be there can we do that?

I guess I'm not saying much..

I guess I'm saying that it would be nice to be in a forum where members and leaders both understood what the Dalia Lama in his safety meant.

Though for me I will always expect those with power to search deeper.

More than this I think that a message of 'love' is good but as neither members nor leaders (mods', admins et-al) seem that perfect I wonder if there is a more practical / realistic message the Dalai Lama might give?

Sorry :o( eek!

> one may write the Dalai Lama for answers ;)

note:
Tibet has been under Beijing's rule since 1951, when troops from the newly formed Communist government moved in and ended a period of self-rule that had flourished while the rest of China was in turmoil. The Dalai Lama, a temporal as well as spiritual leader, led resistance to the imposition of Chinese authority, with assistance from the Central Intelligence Agency, until he was forced to flee over the Himalayas to India in 1959.

America isn't the first major nation to honor the Dalai Lama, but it is still an important moment where the US chooses peace over power - for once

What's needed is perhaps for you to to elect to post more ideas.....or any ideas for that matter instead of the window type decorations of 'peace' all the time without ever defining what is required for such a thing.....all the while neglecting your own contributions to 'non-peace' within the forums. Try that. Engaging with those in your community, so to speak, is a first step. 'Communicating' with month after month of gibberish with undefined means, undefined audience, and non descript methods surely isn't conducive to 'peace'.

You asked opinion? You got it....and I respond without one flame whatsoever.

That would be nice. That's my Christmas Wish.
