Wrong again (imagine my surprise).

Ones 'political' affiliation has nothing to do with ones 'religious' beliefs. (Unless you're a hypocrite)... ;)

(Example: You claim to vote 'republican', yet you are clearly not a member of the 'christian right'.)

Precisely why it's wrong of you to think it's the non-believer rather than the liberal that wants to take away your Constitutionally protected right to worship as you see fit.

Psst, that's politics, genius.

. . . that you have any idea whatsoever about what I think! ;)

If I ever asked or talked about something spiritual would you do me the favour of not quoting scripture

To be honest, I can't take that kind of oath... I will always promote protect and defend the Abrahamic scriptures, however, I would never intentionally bring disgrace upon other belief systems either... I'm not in the business of comparing conflicting religions, I'm in the business of making peace between the Abrahamic religions... My track record shows this to be true... With that said, have no fear and post as you wish... ;)

I never claimed to be psychic, stupid. I merely read your post.

most non-believers seem to get upset over simple phrases such as 'in God we trust' or 'one nation under God'

I'm not likely to change the name of this thread (series). If anyone is not interested in the topic, then simply don't post here. But if I understand the argument correctly, I think that cRunchy is saying spirituality and religion are unrelated topics. They are not. Talking about spirituality, morality, even humanity are the very things that this thread is meant to do. One does not have to be a member of any religion or even "religious" to post here. Indeed, a number of atheists and agnostics have posted here over the years.

Agreed. You should not change the theme or name of this thread. Or if you saw fit you may wish to rename the next incarnation of it 'Religion/Spirituality', or whatever.

To address the other points brought up for a moment; Let Jeffrey post up all the bible verses, koran verses, whatever. People can post up their wiccan stuff too for all I care. And like normal, people like me and BrainShmshr are free to disagree with it and post commentary.

Example: I posted up a 'Fun With Taxes' thread. There's not, and should not be, a requirement that only those that agree with my particular view on tax policy should post there. That rather defeats the whole purpose of a conversation doesn't it?

Carry on, children.

Who are the "anti-Abrahamic" faiths? Buddhists? Zoroastrians? Druids?

Who are the "anti-Abrahamic" faiths?

People who fight against the Abrahamic faiths... ;)

(The culprits: Usually people of 'no faith' and usually not people of 'other faiths'.)

When Jesus returns for his millennial reign, “the righteous are going to rule the nations of the earth … When Jesus Christ comes back, he's not going to ask the ACLU if it's alright to pray, he's not going to ask the churches if they can ordain pedophile bishops and priests, he's not going to ask if it's all right to put the Ten Commandments in the statehouses, he's not going to endorse abortion, he's going to run the world by the word of God … The world will never end. It's going to become a Garden of Eden, and Christ is going to rule it.” ~ John Hagee

Sounds like Evangelicals are gonna be in some deep doo doo... ;)

Matthew 5:2-12
And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you... ;)

Qur'an 98:5
And they have been commanded no more than this:
To worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith);
to establish regular prayer; and to practise regular charity;
and that is the Religion Right and Straight.

The road map to heaven in a nutshell... ;)

Tom Cruise about Scientology:

Tom Cruise Scientology Video - ( ORIGINAL UNCUT )

It sure looks cut to me, and the cutting doesn't make it clearer. I said, and also

I do actually know what Scientology is about but good ole' Tom made it clear as mud, I'd say...

Of course a video like that calls for parodies, and here are a couple:

Tom Cruise Scientology-Constipation Video

Tom Cruise's Scientology Video from The Late Late Show

Enjoy. ;-D

Qur'an 33:35
For Muslim men and women,−
for believing men and women,
for devout men and women,
for true men and women,
for men and women who are patient and constant,
for men and women who humble themselves,
for men and women who give in Charity,
for men and women who fast (and deny themselves),
for men and women who guard their chastity,
and for men and women who engage much in Allah's praise,

− for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward... ;)
