Would it be possible to have posts organized into 'pages' so a person can just click on the last page number to get to the last post without having to load sometimes hundreds of old posts just to get to the new ones? (Not crunching related I know...):) (Just got a new Q6600 on line! - now it's crunching related!) |

Why not change your Forum Preferences on your account to have new posts first? My movie https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/502242 |

Have you tried selecting the sort order in the upper right side just above the page numbers to 'most recent post first'? I think that is all you are asking for. I think this is a good idea. I hate the fact I have to load upto hundreds of posts in order to check something new. Not all of us have unlimited broadband :) some of us actually pay -for what traffic we use-. This means loading MBs of posts we have already read is costing us needlessly. And believe me, it adds up in the end :P |

Ahhh... I see! Merci You still end up loading all the entries in that post though, sometimes hundreds, just in a different order... at least pages would minimize that amount |

If your connection takes so long to load, then you can always set the fora pref to display new posts first, then click on the thread to open it, while it's loading, click the "stop" button on the browser and it won't finish loading the rest of the older posts. |

And you can choose to display images as links, and to hide avatars and signatures (often it's the signature graphics which are slowest to load, because they come from external sites, and can't be cached long-term because they keep changing). Go to 'Message board preferences' under 'Your account'. |

There is also an option to limit the number of posts displayed. Just remember to login in before you view forum posts. I have this set, but have a tendency not to login, and sometimes I wondering why I am getting huge posts downloded. If logged in, it defaults to If more than 100 posts, only display the first 75.
