Lots of nice pictures in this thread. Here's one I found, one of those Inspirational Poster types, very cute.

Well, one nice thing about a glow in the dark kitty, those late night trips to the rest room would never be interrupted with a squeal when you accidentally stepped on Kitty's tail in the dark...

But it only works with ultraviolet light. You could still step on a tail.
Did you know that though cats can see in very low light, they cant see in total darkness? Some people put their cats in a dark basement and wondered why they were going at the top of the stairs instead of the litter boxes. Things straightend out when they put a small nitelite in the basement.

You sure about that Ed? I thought they used that gene from jellyfish that actually glows, not like that radium stuff they use in watch dials or anything. I know they've made mice that glow, meaning they glow visibly to humans, not invisibly, they create their own light.

Edit: Just reread the article, and you're right. How useless. I demand REAL glow in the dark cats! lol

I'm reporting a temporary solution to the demand for glow n the dark kitties. $20 buys you about 5 or 6 of those glow in the dark rubber things sold at amusement parks. Break them open while cat is in docile state. It's preferable to do this after they are 'coming down' after a catnip bender.

Spread goo liberally over head and ears. If you can spare some on the paws this is an added delight but don't worry if not able. Somehow when the cat awakes it will manage to get the paws all covered in the frantic washing phase.

Introduce the other cat's housemates into the scenario. The reaction is fantastic. Have camera handy. The 'Glow kitty' will be perplexed at its newfound effect on his mates. This can't be missed.

Sattler...this is a joke. :-P

I am single, never married, and I fell in love with cats about 13 years ago when my GF at the time woke me up by putting two very young kittens in bed with me as I slept.
They purred and nuzzled and stole my heart completely.
Things have never been the same since.
The GF is gone, but the kitties remain.

My hobby is crunching Seti on OC'd computers.
My vices are whiskey and cigarettes.
My job is installing wiring in fire trucks.
My true love is kitties. (Even my current GF sometimes says she thinks I love her kitties more than her...especially the Maine Coon that I found for her on Petfinder after one of her two cats passed at an old age and she was looking for a Maine Coon to keep the other one company).

I am sure that many other kitty lovers in the Cafe will understand.

I understand, I've loved cats as long as I can recall. Dogs always bit me, but cats always loved me. I'll say I don't mind ferrets either though. My kitties have ever been my best friends. :)
