If you have automatic updates turned on, you will get the update, if you haven't already.

I've had it 'turned off' for ages. It still tries though (sneaky MSFT). Sometimes I'll bring up my IE browser and instead of my homepage, I get the MSFT update page. I always close it real quick. The next time I open IE, it's back to normal. I also have my firewall tweaked to block Aup.exe. ;)

I hate the friggin' update system. The more Microsoft allows you to do that's new, the more it takes away what you could just do before. They can keep their lousy updates, as far as I'm concerned.

My updates are all turned off too, but I still run them because I have to know what M$ is sending down for my customer's sake.

Keeping ones puter time is important as not only has the US juggled time and zones.
But on Win 2000 machines I have had trouble with M$, TZEDIT.
Any Ideas on a better way.
Thanks in advance.

If you can get ahold of the Updated Registry Export You can update the registry on many machines with a simple Right Click and Merge registry... from the network or a floppy...

You might look at this How to configure daylight saving time for Microsoft Windows operating systems. It explains how to do it...

IF you scroll down to the section that was regirty only (not sure how dated it was) You should be able to to copy and paste that into a file that could be saved with a *.reg suffix. Then that would be useable...

Regards

Their time must be "Synced". After I did all of my boxes my RAC started climbing again.
@Pappa, I cheated. I installed the latest TZEDIT then a little freeware program called InTime to sync my Win 2K boxes. ;-)

I don't think this should affect anyone in any severe manner. I believe that BOINC uses UTC for all its internal calculations. However time display in the client may be incorrect by up to an hour for deadlines in some time zones. Most people should not be affected by this, since you'll rarely get within an hour of a deadline.

On the server side, there should be no effect due to this change.

I looked more carefully and again came to the conclusion that it doesn't affect BOINC and SETI@home other that possibly changing time displays for users in the following time zones...

Caucasus Standard Time
Armenian Standard Time
New Zealand Standard Time
GTB Standard Time
Jordan Standard Time

Even in these areas it shouldn't affect calculation of deadlines or anticipated workunit completion time.

If you live in one of these time zones you may want to get the update for other reasons.

. . . Question: has anybody else NOTED (in regards to SAH Certificates)

whether OR not their Date is wrong on the Print out . . .

> mine says February 28th 2000 . . . it's actually the 29th - which was a Leap Year

so it seems the Servers / Database needs some 'Time Corrections' made, eh . . .
