As I said, I say a lot of things that people may think is a good idea...but I simply don't remember them.

If you share what you recall...I can then, perhaps, expand on it.

Keep in mind...I may also choose to refrain from expanding on it. Depends on what I said...lol

P.S. - If team boards are altered to allow people to register even though they are not team members, then yu may find you draw someone in. More importantly, someone could, from time to time, post links in the team recruitment forum and here in the Cafe.

Ohhhh....THAT'S what you are talking about. lol

OK look....here's the way I see things.....

Our forums are open to everyone. We do not require a person to be a part of our team to post on our forums. We do this because we ( as a team ) like to see our forums as the sanctuary for people who simply want to come in...look around...maybe post something...maybe join in on the chat sessions.

We have people who are regular users in the chat that aren't members of the team, and that's perfectly fine with us.

So the excuse that " we wouldn't have anywhere to post " is a moot point. All they have to do is look around.

I have had to mod exactly ONE post on the Calm Chaos forums. As far as I know ( other than spammer posts ) I am the ONLY one who has modded anything. I think the reason for that is that everyone on our forums actually knows how to get along with others....and our rules are pretty clear cut. We set out to make the rules fair for everyone, but not so vague that people will continually try to push the boundaries.

I know I am getting off base a bit....and I am trying not to...

Two members of the 30 are members of Calm Chaos as well...but that doesn't mean that they aren't welcome. I may or may not agree with them....but they are welcome nonetheless.

As far as having them open to everyone...several people have joined our team simply because of getting a look at our forums and seeing that we are a good bunch that genuinely likes to talk to each other.

I understand that there are some people that some teams simply wouldn't want around....but we have found that MOST of the ones you really wouldn't want sorund don't stick around long anyway. Also, if you have a clear set of rules, then it's much easier to keep things from getting ugly.

This is not ( in any way ) a recruiting message. I am simply stating what has worked for us.

I'm not sure who you are taking a dig at now Misfit. But I have compromised my Climate RACs to contribute shed loads to SETI, and have bent over double trying to get Team England members to crunch SETI as well as Climate who would not normally even look here.

I suggest as a moderator of SETI you take care with your sarcasm or I'll tell Team England to stick with Climate shall I? Or don't you even care? Which I suspect you don't.

We are a private group who choose to speak off-forum in private. The name is just a name. It was the best I could think of at the time when having to choose a unique forum name at the start. But you know about these technical things don't you KM, which is why you criticize so easily.
