 It's a go folks!! If you find yourself in the southern Ontario area on August 25th 2007 ........ You are cordially invited the the First Annual BOINCers Picnic in the Park! August 25th at Bronte Creek Provincial Park. ALL BOINCers from ALL teams are welcome and encouraged to attend! A pot luck BBQ will be available as well as Games for the wee ones! Things you may need: A cooler with lots of cold refreshments Folding chairs Sun Screen/Block Something to contribute to the Pot Luck (go to http://teamcanada.freeforums.org TO help organize this) The desire to have fun in the sun and socialize with fellow BOINCers! HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!!! Also, there is a Calgary Picnic in the works! More details to follow! DONATE TO SETI

Thanks for the encouragement John, Dune and John! Kenzie, there may be hope, Toronto is a go, Calgary is a maybe and Vancouver is a faint glimmer of hope! Maybe you might like to help organize a Pacific Picnic? Would be a nice thing to do. @ Sarge - YESSSSSSSS!!! @ Everyone - Why not start your own picnics in your own local areas? THe UK has a tonne of crunchers and so do many parts of the US. It doesn't have to be a HUGE affair (Ours will probably be pretty "intimate"! lol) just some crunchers getting together for a meal and some conversation. Bring along a camera and some enthusiasm!! Possible International Sites: UK (I haven't had the pleasure of visiting ........ yet!) I'm told Sheffield is a beautiful place and more or less central. US Too many cities to list but ...... New York Chicago Boston Miami Las Vegas San Francisco Seattle ETC. Germany (Again, never visited) I'm told Frankfurt and Stuttgart are lovely. Australia Only one place to go ........ HOBART!!!!!! Red already has the pot boiling!! If I missed listing your Country (sorry!) and you want to make something happen, then post here and I will do anything I can to help from my end!!  DONATE TO SETI

Thanks Folks! This weekends Festivities should be fun! Thinking ahead, maybe winter activities might be even more popular, given that more people are in front of their comps to see notices. February is often a "quiet" month for holidays (Just St. Valentines Day really) Maybe a coordinated Multi Continent BOINC Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner (depending on ones time zone), streamed online for those who cannot attend local festivities? lol February 15th St. BOINC's Day! Well it was a little rainy at the start and end of the day, *COUGH*downpour*COUGH*though I saw Noah*COUGH* but then the SUN came out for a nice BBQ! Big Beefy Hamburgers, Venison Sausage and my patented "Vegetable Melange". MMMMMM MMMMMMM! Getting hungry just thinkin' 'bout it! I'll post some pics as soon as I can. Hay Pawly, congrats on the picnic, sorry I couldn't attend but I didn't find out about it until today. been over on the beta side.
