Of the two others who have a copy of that wu. One ended in computation error, and the other exited -9 (noisey). I don't know of any wu which would take that long. consider aborting it. tony |

i aborted it. dam that was waste 15 hours for nothing. 100/0.866= 115.47. Then, 115.47*14= 1616 hours, which is 67 days!!!! |

100/0.866= 115.47. Then, 115.47*14= 1616 hours, which is 67 days!!!! I'm not the greatest mathematician in the world, but where did the % factor go in that calculation? |

If it takes 14h to complete 0.866%, then it will take 16.16h to do 1%. So, in order to complete 100%, the wu will be done in 1616h, which is aproximately 67 days!!!! |

> The odd thing about the Wu that 'manney' worked on is that it was later issued to two slower machines and they did it in 44 seconds and 123 seconds, so it appears to have been a stuck WU. It was also aborted by another user. this WU |

It was also aborted by another user. The 2 hosts which sucessfully reported were both using Chicken 2.2B apps. Another good reason to use Chicken :-) Sir Arthur C Clarke 1917-2008 |

Yeah, The standard SETI app seems to hang occasionally on those types of WUs, but Simon's optimized apps don't. The real reason you'd want to get the optimized apps though is for the huge increase in crunching speed and RAC. Optimized app with graphics Optimized app without graphics (slightly faster) There are several variations of the applications targeted to certain CPU architectures. The above links will automatically choose and install the correct one. |
