Oh, I'm 99.44% certain it's over.

Isn't the majority of the worlds Guinness produced in South Africa?

(Still don't know what this has to do with a redhead?)

I don't know why Budweiser would want to produce such a rumour given Guinness tastes like crap anyway..

My rumour came from before then I think.

There is even a plant in Alabama.

Nah, it's your tastebuds that are crap, mate. Guinness is the nectar of the Gods. (When not polluted with Wild Turkey whiskey anyway, the flamin' Guineess bit is just for the show).

So neither me nor the majority of the people in Eire favour that black crud but if you like it it's OK.

I'm teasing you sort of.

On a hot summers day I prefer either a lite and cold lager or a tall glass of water with ice and a small amount of whiskey or just ice chilled water without anything.

Out of interest you called me "mate"??? Is that a normal US term? I thought only us Brits used that term! I'm just intrigued.

I dunno, just got into the habit of using it now and again. I actually thought it was an Aussie term. As in, 'No worries, mate'.

And I agree that Guninnes is an aquired taste.

A chilled pint of ale has much more character and flavour than a lite beer or larger. Larger is the UK equivalent to that weak tasteless beer from the biggest beer company in the world, who try and sponsor all sporting events!

Are you referring to InBev? Just curious, because it is the actual biggest beer company...

Being in Virginia, and having made trips to Busch Gardens which included a "tour" of the brewery there, I know that Anheuser-Busch isn't the largest in the world, but 3rd, behind InBev (1) and SABMiller (2)...

In any case, beer still tastes bad to me...although I respect others' opinions ;-)

Actually it is a British/Australian/New Zealand/Ireland term (or so information resources tell me). I've also read that 'buddy' is the US/Canada term.

Supposedly the world thinks that us Australians go around calling everyone 'mate', when actually we don't use it as much as you think. Mainly used between friends and not very often used when talking to strangers or overseas visitors. Though the TV shows and Hollywood etc would have you think that is what we call everyone (as well as doing other dangerous or stupid things).

Enjoy.
