I was in Europe around the time that I played with toy soldiers. Most boys there played with Medieval Knights tin soldiers with large papier-mache castles complete with drawbridges. So, the main scenario was a siege, with some brave knights coming out from the castle to joust with the beseigers. Happy times! Cool! I only had the regular cheap plastic solders. Most of them died horrible deaths with my dads lighter fluid. Some with firecrackers. Of course, several had arm, leg and head amputations done with scissors. I don't even want to think about all the girls around that age , or 13, or 14, who had crushes on me when I was a camp counselor. But it was also the plot of Deep Impact and The Day After Tomorrow (both mediocre), except natural disasters = bad guys in those movies.
