Message 554093 - Posted: 26 Apr 2007, 8:43:57 UTC

Having restarted my computer after anti virus update, I got this message;
26/04/2007 09:36:38||Can't delete previous state file; Access is denied. (0x5)
SOo what is it and what can I do about it?

There is a state file in each slot directory (folder) e.g. D:\\Program Files\\BOINC\\slots\\1 in my case, usually C:\\Program Files\\BOINC\\slots\\

The state file for a running task is updated according to your checkpoint interval, usually every 60 seconds.

That message refers to client_state.xml in the Boinc directory. If the message only occurs occasionally, BOINC will be able to work without problems. But excluding the Boinc directory from anti-virus scanning is probably sensible anyhow.
