YES most definitely...something is out there and we will eventually find it. Why will communication never happen? See this old BBC story, Teleportation goes long distance and if the distances can be increased (by a very large amount), we can have instantaneous secure comms. Andy YES |

Credits will not be done away with, This is a silly subject that shouldn't have ever been started. I think this is just a poll to see who's in it for the credits (or game aspect of it) and who's in it for the science (or the discovery aspect of it). |

YES most definitely...something is out there and we will eventually find it. Seti searches for radio signals, therefore in the non to probable event of such a signal being found it is certain to be hundreds of thousands of years if not millions of years old so it is unlikely E.T. will be hanging on the line waiting for a reply. As for the technology you speak of it is it's infancy to say the least and it's use for vocal communication has not seriously been considered. I am afraid the most we can hope for from seti is(if we are very lucky) an indication that at some point in the past there was intelligent life somwhere else in the gallaxy (That and a reliable download/upload) m4rtyn |

If SETI didn't give "credits" would you still do it??? What? You're not sure for yourself? Heisenberg uncertainty...? Happy crunchin', Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

If SETI didn't give "credits" would you still do it??? I like credits because they show that something happened. I don't care about them very much, because they are almost completely meaningless. Getting upset because you should have received 60 "nothings" and got 30 "nothings" instead is a waste. |
