Not exactly running a car, but could halve your heating bill (a'la "free energy")

The problem is there are a couple of chemicals involved (potash and whatever the "catalyst" is). If one or both of these two are consumable, then it is not energy from nothing - but it may be a much more efficient device.

There are many kinds of energy, and while it is possible to transform one into another, so far, nobody has ever successfully created energy out of nothing.

The question of the priority of the invention of the rotating magnetic field is discussed in the May 2007 issue of the magazine "Automazione, Energia e Informazione", the official magazine of the Associazione Elettrotecnica Italiana
whose first president was Galileo Ferraris. The magazine prints both the photos and the translations of a sentence of a Berlin Court which reaffirms the validity of a sentence of the Berlin Patenamt dated December 10 1896 relative to the Patents 47012 and 47885 assigned to Nikola Tesla on May 1 1885. The Berlin Tribunal declares void these patents as required by the A.E.G. firm because of prior art by Galileo Ferraris. Incidentally, the June issue of the same magazine has published an article of mine on the BOINC system and I have illustrated it with photos of the Arecibo radiotelescope.
