I have set my preferences to download 10 days work but I only get 1 work unit at a time. Why is this??? How do you get the full 10 days worth to download??? |

I don't think they have enough to dish out yet. They just started back up again, so everyone's machines are probably inhaling more wu's than the servers can spew. I wrote too soon. After having only 1 wu myself, I just got 20 more. My preferences are set at 4-5 days. I'm using 4.05 [url=http://www.setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/banners/5setibanner_bl.jpg] Processing for the Planetary Society since July 5, 1999 |

I suspect you set it to 10 days to cover times like the last weekend when the servers were down. They had a small problem with the server earlier today and had to fiddle with it a bit. It was producing many WU's with errors. If you have been getting errors on the downloads, that may be why you don't have many "Ready to run" WU's. Too, the servers have probably been hit pretty hard today by people trying to get WU's and the supply of available WU's may be low. I received quite a number of errors when I was downloading WU's earlier today, but the system keeps trying to download new WU's to fill up my queue, and those WU's that downloaded with errors have been removed from my work queue. If you are running a HT or dual processor system, then 7 would a maximum number of days to set. This would give you a minimum of 7 days and a maxumum of 14 days according to the client scheduling policy. If T = number of days set to 'connect to network' (ie: 7 days minimum) Then 2T = 14 days (maximum days is automatically double) You can read about the scheduling policy at: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/client_sched.php |

It can take a few days to get your cache full. When things are running and SETI has the work you can get up to 50 work units a day. |
