I signed up with CPDN yesterday because I was running out of WUs for SETI@Home. The computation for My 1 WU for CPDN has not, as yet, been started. Doesn't it just figure that as soon as I sign up for more DC, SETI starts up again? Now all I have to do is figure out how to get my CPDN WU worked on. I had figured that since I had 100% on SETI and 100% on CPDN (50% resources each) that I would be running 1 SETI and 1 CPDN, at the same time. I guess that's what I get for thinking.... L8R.... > no good deed goes unpunished, Siran I also noticed that running a SETI WU alongside a CPDN wU appears to show no progress on the CDPN WU (AMD 1.44 G/512M DDR 133FSB) so I reached a decision - detach from SETI and run the CDPN on that system, keep SETI on my older P3 the KISS principle |

BOINC timeslices by the hour. About once an hour it decides which project to run next based on the debt that project has accumulated. Currently you must change a setting on a web site to get the time slicing to work correctly. You have to change the setting "Leave applications in memory while prempted?" to yes. The current code base does not wait for a checkpoint to switch projects, and if the project is exited, all work since the last checkpoint is lost. On a slow enough machine, that could be all of the work since the time slice started. |

I appreciate the response, but I wasn't looking for help here. I was going to post a help message in "Questions and Problems" for this when I go around to it. Thanks again....! The same is true for all of the general settings. |

I have SETI set at 100 and CPDN set at 300. This (in my mind) should result in 3 hours of CPDN crunching for every SETI hour crunched. So far, my observations have been the program simply alternates between the two on an hourly basis on BOINC 4.05. |

Well, now I have 0.13% complete on my "preempted" CPDN WU. That, since sometime this morning. I didn't catch the time of the preempt. Hey! At least BOINC sees it and has done something with it. Good thing the deadline is 8/19/2005! It looks like it will take that long to compute it. L8R.... --- EDIT: This morning was 9/9/2004, by the way, not 9/10/2004 as in the date of this post.
