I've just returned the 4th result on this WU and all 4 results are marked as pending. Result # 3 was returned @ 25 Mar 2007 16:45:20 UTC Result # 4 (mine) was returned @ 25 Mar 2007 18:00:18 UTC. Any ideas ? Sir Arthur C Clarke 1917-2008 |

I've just returned the 4th result on this WU and all 4 results are marked as pending. The info we see is not real time. It may have happened already but the screen may not have updated yet. Time is your friend. |

I've just returned the 4th result on this WU and all 4 results are marked as pending. I know it is not real time, but usually it only takes 2 or 3 minutes to update after a quorum is met. I suspect that there may be a new problem happening here. I am not greatly concerned about 12.8 credits, just pointing out that there may be a new problem develping at Berkeley. Keith |

Maybe it's better not to upload and report the results? Because it's possible that some results will not validate correct? |

Database/file status [...] Workunits waiting for validation 78,697 41m [...] So where were those Scarecrow graphs? And how do they compare to previous panics? Is this really a panic or is this all still just a Sunday afternoon picnic? ;-) Happy crunchin', Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

How does one stop them from uploading/reporting? |

Easiest way is to suspend network activity, but you won't be able to DL new work then either. Alinator |

Easiest way is to suspend network activity, but you won't be able to DL new work then either. How did I know that was going to be the answer, lol. Just a thought (they always get me in trouble). Can I suspend network activity and when the WU is done processing, move the file do another directory so BOINC can't find it to upload, then when things are moving along, I can move them back so BOINC can find them to upload. After I move it to a temp directory, I could resume network activity to get another WU? |

Hmmm... I never tried that, but my gut feeling is that would trash the result when the transfer is due to go and BOINC can't find the output file. A better strategy might be to temporarily increase your CI, force an update, suspend network activity, and then set your CI back to normal. That way you'd have a temporary increase in the amount of work to cover you until they get the validator logjam cleared, and when the host reports the next time once you re-enable network activity it goes back to normal. Easiest way is to suspend network activity, but you won't be able to DL new work then either. The validators (or at least some of them) are now working. The original WU in this thread passed validation a few hours ago. But they are running with a backlog. I suggest you just let BOINC Manager run normally and everything will probably catch up in the next few hours (possibly days). If you mess with files that BOINC Manager expects to find, you may cause other problems. I wouldn't reccomend it. There is currently a validator backlog of 78,697 (2h) and the upload/download server is currently disabled. [EDIT] Now working again.[/EDIT] |
