The Control Panel Applet "Add/Remove Programs" has an entry for BOINC. This is the utility that should be used when removing BOINC when using Windows. |

Ordinarily, all you have to do is Uninstall from Add/Remove Programs applet. Although there have been problems with it completing properly with some versions. Since you have been inactive for awhile I can't tell what version you were running, However bad automatic uninstalls can sometimes be rectified by re-installing the exact same version you have currently, and then uninstall it again. That being said, you can remove it manually by just deleteing the BOINC folders (you'd have to do that manually anyway, uninstall only removes BOINC executables and related files, and not project specific stuff) and cleaning the registry manually of the BOINC entries (HKLM/Software/Space Sciences Laboratory and also HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/BOINC if you installed as a service). If you installed as a user you'd have to delete the BOINC shortcut from the startup folder for accounts where it ran. The last step would be to run the MS Installer Cleanup Utility (or equivalent) to remove the installer info from Windows. You could also try one of the commercial uninstallers/cleanup utilities as well. HTH, Alinator |
