I've been giving the name some thought, whadda ta think?

Boincers And Canadians Own Network = www.BACON.ca

Canadian Boincers Coalition = www.CBC.ca, I think this one is already taken

Boinc Benefits Canada = www.BBC.ca, as is this one

Boinc Leaders Of Canada = www.BLOC.ca, this would be acceptable in Quebec but might cause trouble with other Canucks

Boinc Leaders And Mentors Ensemble of Canada = www.BlameCanada.ca

Boinc Canada Brings Us Deeper = www.bcbud.ca

It's still a work in progress, I'm open to suggestions.

I kinda like the BlameCanada one....lmao

Hi There,
I've been a member of Setiathome since 2003, but just recently joined Team Canada, and discovered the inactive state of the Team leader also. I wouldn't mind contributing to keeping the community alive, but mostly I'm in it because of my love for Astronomy and national pride as well...of course!
I'm not a computer person really, so I'm having a problem transferring my credits from my old account to the Team Canada account. Right now Boinc is running my old account 50% and then the Team Canada account 50%. When I tried to login using my old password, Boinc wouldn't accept it..said it was invalid.
I suppose the question is: Can I transfer my credits/work from my old account and cancel it so that all the work goes to the Team account?
Can anyone help me? I've been searching the website, but perhaps don't know what to look for.
Thanks!Lynn

Hi Lynn,
I don't know alot about BOINC but I'm sure you can't transfer your credits to a team. You always keep your personal credits but your contribution to a team starts when you join.

Did you click "Quit team" under "Your Account" for the old team before you joined Team Canada? That's the only thing I can think of at the moment.

The units that you crunch once you join a team will go to under the team stats. Any units that you crunched prior to joining the team will show up in your personal stats, but not the team stats.

Team stats, as far as crunching, start getting credited to the team on the day you join.

Hope that helps. :-)

Hello Pawly and fellow Canadians :-)

Pawly, I've replied to your inbox. Both on the forum over at Team Genesis and via the e-mail address you left with me.

The forum gets little activity from the current membership, but I hope that will change as the team grows.

You are more than welcomed to visit the forum. I'd like it to remain as problem free as possible as to require little intervention and time to run as possible from me.

Very gacious of you Borg! Sorry I should have replied to this post earlier.
The Team Genesis Canada Site and Forums are great!! Everyone should check them out. I have had no luck in pulling up the Forums the last couple of days, but I'm sure that it's just temporary. Or is that Temporal? lol

OFCOURSE!!!
Welcome aboard!! As you can see by the thread things are progressing but slowly.

STATUS REPORT:
Current Team Captain : Andrew (MIA - AWOL - Please come home!)

Captain in Waiting : Tony J. (Currently with alot on his plate)

Website/Forum : None (Although Team Genesis Canada has graciously
offered use of thiers, However we don't want to muddy up the place...know
what I mean?)

Current Members : 942?? (Holy Macinaw! I just keeps going up! Ahem...however
not many have chose to voice any concerns about team wellbeing here.)

Many SETI "Crunchers" aren't too concerned with the "warm fuzzy" community
thing, some just have BOINC in the background and don't give it a second thought. I'm
a big mouth so you get this thread!!

I haven't heard any update on the "Innitiate Transfer" issue but the guys in the trenches
have other more pressing concerns. And I'm sure they will iron
it out in due time.

Well, your a member now. What do we do?

Patriotically yours,
Pawly AKA Captain Canuck

Wow somehow I missed a lot of notices on this thread. I am trying to catch up on all the comments. I guess why wife has been deleting my emails again, evil little gnome she is.

Well they are coming to pack and move us in a week and I will be in Quebec by April 1st. I don't know exactly when my furniture or computers will arrive though.

I have to ask this; I have been on since March, 2005 and have eleven posts whilst you since January, 2007 with eight hundred? All I can say is "wow".
