All seems fine here - apart from my lightbulb failing. BOINCing by candlelight ... the gag's obvious, so I won't.

It does seem strange that for some time now, uploads have been successful and downloads have been non-existent (without even any attempt and so no red warning note).

Just now the upload/download server has been marked as "disabled", yet uploads continue to be successful. This is even more baffling. Whoops, just as I say that, that server is now apparently OK again.

Believe it or not. Everything now seems to be working again - downloads catching up fast!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

---- Spoke too soon. Got 10 units and back to the old routine - NO WORK FROM PROJECT
But everything's still green on the Server Status (optimistically).

Looks like the UL/DL servers and the splitters are playing a yoyo game with us. As I started this post they were down. A quick check before posting and all is green again.

Attach to another project and go drink some champagne while boinc crunches happily away. It is new years eve! No time to be babysitting your computers!

I'm in the process of using S@H RAC to benchmark a couple of machines. Running out of work will cause the results to be delayed by at least a couple of weeks.

I haven't been able to get any either, but don't forget... This is the last day of the year,... The server may have more to do than just Seti... I am sure it will be back up sooner than later... Lets hope so anyway...

We are currently experiencing database performance problems. This is resulting in erratic workunit downloads.

I hate to dash hopes of an early recovery from the current round of problems but this information was taken from Berkeley Spring Calendar: "Spring Semester begins Tue 1/9/2007". As an employee of a state university I think it is likely that Berkeley employees will not report for work today and may be out for the rest of the week. I did not find an employee calendar for Berkeley.

Even though the students are not back to the 9th Jan, the staff are usually in the week before. I know this from experience working as a classroom assistant, the staff have things to do and most university only close on bank holidays.

> don't know if (?) it's relevant - though i heard - on the NEWS - that Tuesday & Wednesday were 'declared' a Federal Holiday (for Washington, DC) because of President Ford's Passing / Viewings etc . . . might affect / effect the stasis of Universities etc . . . hope this helps ;)
