Hello,
Is there any evidence in the area for hot-spots (thermal activity) that might account for the liquid water? Does anyone know the altitude (depth?) at which this water was spurting out, and whether this is where liquid water could be expected?

I saw that article in the newspaper this morning. No particulars were given except that water had flowed and changed the small-scale scenery there over just a few days.

There's no evidence of thermal activity, rather they think that maybe acids in the water are acting like antifreeze, keeping it liquid at lower temperatures.
Here's a more in-depth article

If there is water there is some sort of life however small that may be.hu-mans tend to think that a living creature has to breath oxygen via water, air or whatever the source.I do not see that as the case although i do agree however that simple elements have a part in every living creature be it on earth or in the universe.

more solid meaning ice caps only a theory because if the water flowed so much in the areas where the sun heats the surface it would more likely steam off. However i agree under the surface it is very likely that there is. and if likely that it is very likely life however small it is.

Maybe even find some more 'curly macaroni' or 'novel shapes' in there before, as Jim Oberg says, someone has the guts to use the f-word.

LOLOL when others resort to insults like that it's clear that they probally have nothing intelligent to add to a discussion.eitherway whats wrong with saying that the ice turns from a solid to a gas when "melted"? Much like dry ice does? LOL.In my opinion mars will be inhabited again as it was before.hows that go with your little box thinking?
