Gotta like it like that, John Lee Hooker (August 22, 1917 – June 21, 2001) was an influential American post-war blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter born in Clarksdale, Mississippi. From a musical family, he is a cousin of Earl Hooker. He performed in a half-spoken style that became his trademark. Rhythmically, his music was free, a property common with early acoustic Delta blues musicians. His best known songs include "Boogie Chillen" and "Boom Boom".

I like John Lee Hooker. Does that mean I'm old? Not to rub it in, but the Cab Calloway bit from the 'Blues Brothers' was a hoot too, and that's one of the last things he did. "He ain't your Daddy..." as told by R.L. Burnside Well, well, well... You know this friend of mine, him and his wife had one kid. And he was a boy, ya know. And he had done got to be about twenty-two years old. And his father hadn't never seen him with no girl. So he told him one morning, "Son, you need to go out and find you a girl and get married." So, the boy went out and found him a girl. Come back, daddy's down in the kitchen, the girl's sittin there on the couch. "Mamma, where's Daddy?". "He's down in the kitchen" mamma says. The boy went down to the kitchen where his father was. "Daddy, I found me a girl." "Where she at, son?" "She in there on the couch." The father went on like he wasn't paying her no attention, but checking her out too, ya know, then comes back in shaking his head... "Un Unh no son, you can't marry that girl, that's your sister but your mamma don't know it!" About two weeks later, one Saturday morning, he came up with another girl, ya know, and his father was out plowing the garden. "Mamma, where Daddy at?"... "He out there plowing the garden." So the boy went out there to the garden and said, "Daddy, I found me another girl."... "Where she at, son?"... "She in there on the couch." So the father went on in the house like he was going after a drink of water, ya know, came back shaking his head and stompin, carryin on. "Un unh NOOO son, you can't marry neither one of those girls, both them girls is your sister, but your mamma don't know it!" About three weeks go by and his mamma asked him, "Son, you didn't like neither one of them girls well enough to get married?" "Yes Mamma, I liked both of them. But Daddy said I couldn't marry them, cause they was my sister, but you didn't know it." His mamma said "WHAT?
