I realize this is not the proper place for this question, but the BOINC message board does not accept my email or account key, and SETI does.

I am running BOINC on 2 ps's. My desktop took the upgrade from 5.2.13 to 5.4.11 with no issues.

But I cannot get 5.4.11 to run on my laptop - it starts and then abruptly ends. I have tried in safe mode, and I have tried removing 5.2.13 completely, but each time I cannot get 5.4.11 to run.

I have tried several different downloads of the program, in case there was an issue there, but that did not help either.

Any thoughts from anyone on how to get the upgrade to load ?

Check that you aren't missing any DLLs.
Copy them from your desktop if needed.
What Windows version?

I am running XP Pro on both machines.

Exactly what DLL's should I be looking for ?

People are having problems starting 5.4.11, I'd suggest 5.4.9 If It's still available that is, At least until something newer than 5.4.11 comes out.

If nothing else, you can go Here, and download the development version 5.5.13, and test it. Now mind you, its not a recommended version, but maybe it might help. Or, as JokerCPoC said, if you can find 5.4.9, try that version as well. Hope that helps.

I'm using 5.5.6 from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/. It seems to work fine on all my systems.
