Message 514608 - Posted: 7 Feb 2007, 16:36:12 UTC - in response to Message 514602.

Any reason why I am still getting a "no work from project"??? I'm able to upload just fine.

Stop BOINC
Open a command window type in:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
Start BOINC
Retry communications

SETI has been changing servers between different DNS zones, and it may have cached in your machine and/or BOINC and this helps clear that.

These messages just keep coming up from last night...

I'm using BOINC 5.8.8 and SETI@home Enhanced 5.15

I've tried to do what Pooh Bear 27 said but it didn't help :(

There's a difference between No work from project and the various flavours of upload/download problems.

Crudely, if you see anything showing in your 'transfers' tab for more than a few seconds, suspect a communications issue. You can probably do something about this.

Having seen a few of these myself, I would suggest:

1) Stop BOINC. Start BOINC. Retry transfer. (often this works on its own)
2) Stop BOINC. Follow Pooh's ipconfig tip.
3) Stop BOINC. Shut down computer. Reboot router. Restart computer.

As you see, that's an increasingly drastic set of suggestions. Try the simple ones first, and only move to (2) and (3) if (1) and (2) don't work.

No work from project means that you've got communications with Berkeley, and they're telling you something. That there's no work (at the moment). Have a beer, chill out, and try again later. It's in their hands, not yours.

I've got 3 computers, 2 seemingly aren't having issues getting work but one keeps pulling nothing. I cleared my dn, re registers, cleared my install folder, reinstalled, still nothing.

Sounds like I'm not the only one having the same problem, I tried everything also, and still nothing. Just going to have to wait it out I guess :( oh well. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions anyway.

Or you can keep your CPU warm by attaching to another project in addition to S@H.

I think someone forgot to restart seti beta scheduler after the maintenance that was just done. Papa, if you are reading this could you tell Eric that the scheduler is still down? Wish I could telnet in and start it myself because i'm on my last wu ;)

If you are using a software firewall with its own DNS cache (like Outpost, as i have just discovered), check the list of cached servers and delete the seti... ones.

As soon as I did this I reconnected and my completed WUs uploaded and new WUs started downloading immediately.

Message 515858 - Posted: 10 Feb 2007, 19:03:18 UTC - in response to Message 511311.

I have 20+ results that my systems are trying to upload, and all I ever get back is an error message:

Could not connect to hostname [setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu].

When will the systems start allowing results to be reported, and new data to be downloaded?

Try stopping and restarting BOINC. (Do NOT detach and reattach to the project or "Reset". You'll loose your work.)
