Some people did not know of the existance and state of the different ports for other, not offical supported ports of SETI Enhanced for other platforms.

Thank you so MUCH!!! It was giving me the bogus error that my platform was unrecognized.

Hi,

Here are some new optimized apps for alternative platforms based on the 2.3A source tree of the "chicken app".

They were ported to 64-bit Linux by me and have produced reliable and accurate results in all tests.

Performance is far better than any 64-bit app on IA64 and Alpha.
Improvements are in the range of 30 to 60%.

The IA64 app beat's the one from stefan urbat by allmost 50% and the alpha app is 50% faster than a build from the 5.17 source tree.

for Alpha EV67 runing Linux (EV6) This one runs on EV67 cpus and might run on EV6,but it's untested.

for Intel ITANIUM running Linux This one runs on any Itanium CPU.

Both downloads include a text file about the host it was build on and the library dependencies. Make sure you have a look at it first !

P.S.

Next one will be SPARC64 running linux.

Hi,

Here are some new optimized apps for FreeBSD based on the 2.3A source tree of the "chicken app".

They were ported to 32-bit FreeBSD 6.2, all compiled with ICC 9.1, FFT is FFTW3 3.1.2 Alpha.

Here are the links:

FreeBSD SSE

FreeBSD SSE2

FreeBSD SSE3

P.S. i would appreciate some comments about those in this thread.

Porting 2.2B "chicken app" to alt. platforms

Thanks.

Hi,

Here is a new optimized app. for HPUX 11.11 on PARISC based on the 2.4 source tree of the "chicken app" ready for Multi Beam WUs.

1. Ported to HPUX on PARISC 2.0 , all compiled with HPs native C++ (aCC), FFT is FFTW3 3.1.2 Alpha.

2.4 MultiBeam for HPUX PARISC 2.0

2. Ported to HPUX on Itanium, HP-GCC 4.1.0 vectorization enabled, FFT is FFTW3 3.1.2 Alpha.

2.4 MultiBeam for HPUX Itanium IA64

P.S. i would appreciate some comments about the app. in this thread Porting 2.2B "chicken app" to alt. platforms
or over at Lunatics.at
.

Thanks.

The new multibeam applications are released for Windows and Linux which do a lot of more finer analysis of the data.

From a post from Matt from the technical news forum :
Jeff returned today and we all tackled getting the new multibeam client out. So the Windows version has been released, in case you haven't noticed. A Linux version, and a working Mac version (should be recompiled eventually) are also available. This client will chew on classic work until multibeam data becomes available. Speaking of that, Jeff and I are working on the splitter now. We actually fired one up, and a few hundred multibeam workunits went out to the public, but we're still doing work on the automation backend and otherwise, so don't expect a flood of new work just yet. Besides, we really should get the formal press release in order before we dive all the way into the new data. In any event: Woo-hoo!!
- Matt

I have build binaries for the new multibeam applications for HP-UX (11i V.1..V.3) on PARISC 32 bit, 64 bit and IA64. Till Stefan has notput them on his website, the binaries are available from my site.
Other plaforms following asap...

hello everybody,

I'm always dreaming about a Boinc client for Aix systems ;)

If you have a little time, maybe you could try to compile the sources here : http://www.polarhome.com/service/shell/aix/index.php3

It gives an access to an Aix 5L server ... hoping there are gcc libs or whatever installed !

thanks a lot for your attention :)

regards,

Jean-Marc

edit : mmmm I didn't see but it costs 10 local currency to access the developpement environnement :/

The AIX problems resulting not from a missing account. There was a lot of problems with the BOINC client and the SETI application. The BOINC client was compilable and running with some modifications, but the SETI application never did worked correctly, so we never released the binaries. But we are still working on it...

Hello Dotsch, thanks for your answer.

Ok I thought it was also the boinc client that was not compilable ! Sorry :)

Then maybe other projects clients could be more easily compilable like Hydrogen@Home and so on ? I know I'm asking a lot but it would be wonderfull if my Aix systems could crunch again :)

Why such focus on x86?
What would be nice would be an x64 port for OpenBSD

TIA...

A SETI application for x64 is still available. The Astropulse application for x64 openbsd is in work. - The cause for the delay is that x64 on OpenBSD not so common would be used in the past.
