That pretty much sums it up...now I think I know what he meant by automated posting...

Wow. There's a way to do that? Dunno what that means, but I'm glad it went to the circular file.
I realized the dead-end roads I ended up taking weren't always my fault. Many thanks to all that have helped in this - and you know who you are.

Hahahaah! But he who laughs last, laughs best, don't you think?

Hey, does anyone here like HBO's series "The Sopranos"?

Tried it once or twice, but always ended up trying to compare it to "The Godfather" (the mother of all syndications) and never really got the hang of it. If you miss too many episodes it gets a little frustrating.

Actually, I miss that show about the funeral home family, what was it called? (brain freeze)

"Six Feet Under" wasn't it?

Yesh!

DA-DA

That title song still gives me the willey's.

Well, the words are right, it's a clear enough warning.

But will there be any follow up?

And also, I don't see any practical difference between using automated posting or doing it manually. A Flood is a Flood, no matter which way you slice it. Cut-and-paste, bot...makes no difference in its effect on the servers or as a nuisance to users.

True....I think that was myh problem with the Sopranos...I missed alot of episodes and totally lost track of the storyline...

Hmmn, I have the whole set of the series, except for the current one. It's a pity I can't just send you a set or two. Ask CA for my email addy, and if you really want to see it, I can ship you mine on loan.

New thread: "Beethoven's copyright-infringment-free Library Service". LOL

No problem.

Hmm...man my RAC dropped from 2400 down to 1100 :/

Is that with the new 5.12 work units?

yeah.

Oh by the way Mike, there's an interesting thread here that talks about the new SE WU's and the credit assignment for them.
FYI

Had to laugh at that one Mike. Personally, I came from a small family (Mom,Dad me) but one of my best friends had 12 other siblings (!) Dunno why they didn't stop at 12 or just go to 14, but they had an entire 'fridge out in the garage that was just for milk! and the kitchen table was two picinic benches end-to-end. Dinner time was reminiscent of something out of Animal House. Fun Times man!

Heh. I'll bet.

My grandmother was a very energetic widow. She built a long picnic table on her own, then used a huge cauldron to cook up enough soup for 30 people. Everyone in her town know that if you were down on your luck, you could get some free soup Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

That's pretty cool. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

One of the things I do like about these forums chris, is that there's lots to read. I think the Science section is really good. And the number crunching section has built up a good library of knowlege.

The overall content here is good, don't you think?

Sorry for the delay B, caught a quick nap to recharge.

I'm always looking for interesting banter and there is alot about. Cafe has a lot of *sound* bytes that are all at once informative and witty. Crunching is good for hardware/technical info and the Science section has a lot of lively debate with a philisophical edge to it. All in all a nice place to call "home." In my line of work, there has rarely been the opportunity to converse in a way that I find here and the refreshing points of view have been inspirational in many respects.

I'm glad to see that a lot has calmed. The transition to SETI Enhanced is slowly becoming accepted and seems the boards here are settling down as well.

TV woke me up (thought I was closing my eyes for a few) so I'll return to my regularly scheduled slumber.

G'nite. See ya tommorrow.

She sounds like one hell of a great lady, Beethoven. Salt of the Earth.

Good Morning Jim, Chris, John...and everyone else.

Jim, thank you kindly for those words. Not to boast, but I think that my grandmother was exemplary, by which I mean to say, that she influenced people by setting herself as an example. I find that I follow those who've set an example have had the strongest impact on the way I want to be. God bless the family structure because within it, there's usually some examplary person.

Chris, Ha^! "White to move and mate in one" is a problem many of us have been trying to solve without success. I also like Leonard Cohen's poker take on this, about the dealer "who is searching for a card that is so High and Wild, he'll never have to deal another. LOL

John, Alternative Babe of the Day is a great idea!

Let's keep it going guys. I'll try to post a nomination tomorrow for John to consider. Um, let's put the pics in links instead of straight up, from now on. I think that's one of the norms around here, it's so that people sensitive to these kinds of pics don't get offended, I think. Is that okay with you?

I've got to hop out of here in a few minutes. I've got an appointment for a car inspection and some grocery shopping that won't wait.

Keep a seat for me, willya? I'll be back.
