Why not let people differ about their answers to the great mysteries of the Universe? Let each seek one's own way to the highest, to one's own sense of supreme loyalty in life, one's ideal of life. Let each philosophy, each world-view bring forth its truth and beauty to a larger perspective, that people may grow in vision, stature and dedication.

On or off topic? You tell me. I saw this great skit on either SNL or MadTV. It was a debate between two politions. The first one went and said his piece and then the second said "I disagree. What we need to do is..." Then he continued to say exactly what the other person said but from a different point of view. For example, one would say "We need to make sure that more people have jobs and remain employed." Then the second would say "I disagree. We need to reduce unemployment." The perfect rhetoric.

Hence OPINION, or just about the same as a different point of view. Dead On The Topic. Nice example there Sleestak.

But on a different point of view, I see what each man was saying. By saying "We need to make sure that more people have jobs and remain employed.", means he could be talking about expanding the industrial world as we know it, to produce more jobs and have better productivity, so that these people may keep a job. The other guy saying "I disagree. We need to reduce unemployment.", could mean that he would give out more jobs to existing businesses who roll around in the cash, thus evening out the revenue, but doesn't mean that they may keep these people for very long. Like a temperary. Just long enough to get your use out of them and be done with them until the next time.

Notice most industries are going oversea's due to cheaper labor and cheaper on costs to run the industry.

It might just be me, but I think the "Zionist World" thread (here), dovetails this conversation nicely. So many practical examples, and it displays some of the pitfalls too.

I do wish there was more non-NATO opinion (I prefer perspective myself, but that's just symantics) on the thread, but that would just be a major bonus. Like many here, I'm always ready to hear new prespectives, even better if they are perseusive and force you to re-evaluate your own.

Still looking for something profound or inspirational to place here.

Why don't you input your perspective there then? We'd love to hear them! :)

I actually tried to. Up until the post I just added, I either saw no need to rehash what was already there or simply couldn't keep my thoughts together for a coherent post. Past, present, and the Future (in the form of a resolution) all collide along with religion in that thread. It's real messy business, unless you can distill it down to a smaller part of it, sometimes I can and other times I cannot. When I cannot, even I can't understand what I just wrote (yeah it can be that messed up), I might write 3 posts before I actually add 1 in a thread like that.
