I get one per second Windows error message "Boinc failed to disconnected from the internet" until the computer freezes with error messages all over the screen.
This computer is Win 2000 Pro OS.
The other three computers on my local net have no problem.
The error message is in a little box with a white X in a red circle in the upper left corner and in the box it states: "Boinc failed to disconnected from the internet". There is an OK box to check but I can't move the mouse and click it before it makes a new box overlapping it. There is also an alarm sound each time it makes a new error box about once a second. and these boxes will fill the screen in about 30 seconds. I can't stop them unless I kill the program with task manager which said it is waiting for a reply. I then click End now.

Never saw this one before. May depend a bit on your connection type.
That's why I'm just wildly guessing:

Go to 'your account' -> 'general preferences' and have look at the 'network using' section. Maybe it'll already help if you set the value of 'Disconnect when done' to NO.
Don't forget to press 'update' in 'projects' tab after any change.

BTW: I read your former request on this issue but hoped that somebody more competent would find an answer...

In that case it should give no problems to set the said value to NO.

I just looked and it already has "NO" in the "Disconnect when done" setting.
I have been looking for any differences between my other three computers and the problem one and can't find any. The other ones are desk tops and the problem one is a Dell M40 work station industrial laptop with a local wireless connection to the Linsys wireless 2.4 GHz broadband router with speed booster. The other desk top computers on the same table are direct wire connected to the same router. The laptop is also on the same table. It's a ten foot long table.

I was getting the same error message on my desktop after I installed a Linksys wireless broadband router with SpeedBooster (Model WRT54GS). I use Boinc Manager v5.2.5 Under Options Options Connections I selected the Use my LAN connection. After doing that, the error message box stopped appearing.

I made the change and it is working OK on my laptop. The other three desktop computers are hard wired and did not have the problem. Only the laptop is wireless.
Thanks
