Thanks to both Thierry and Fabe for replying.

I did notice the "member since" stat, and that's cool!

But if I were to purchase one of the certificate frames, for instance, would my certificate show the total number of credits from both systems, Classic and BOINC?

Sorry for beating a dead horse, but I'd really LOVE if my BOINC totals showed all my credits TOTAL on the screensaver page I look at most often.

Well that sucks.
My account still only says "1031 as of March 15, 2005. When will THAT be corrected then?

Once Classic is shut down, a final update will be done.

If you go to the Seti@HOME home page there is a link that will take you to a page where you can set up the certificate to show both seti classic and seti/BOINC credits. I would wait until the final classic credits have been updated, when classic is shut down. You should have your correct classic totals at that time.

Thanks for the tips about the certificate, frame, etc.

I'll try to wait patiently for Classic to end so my totals can be correct.

Well I have installed seti@home classic. Gone through the user_info.sah file to get my password. It is the same one that seti sent me in my email. So it verifies that it is my true password. I can login to set classic using my email address. But when I try to trnasfer over credits from http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_email_form.php it says no such email address. I used the same email address for both accounts, so I know they exist. Especially since I can login to both of them. I will run both versions of the programs for a couple of days hopeing that will help it convert the credits. Probably not. I just hate to loose all my credits in this change over for nothing. Its only about 2300 or so, but heck its still 2300. :) I guess I exsist but yet I dont.

Don't feel to bad I have 32000+ to loose if I can't straighten this out.

If you used the same email address to join seti/BOINC you used when you first joined seti classic, then that is a bug of some kind and you should go to Questions/Problems forum where you may find an answer. But the fact that it says new member under your user name indicates that the email address you used to join seti/BOINC was not the same as the one you had used to join seti classic. I would double check that email address.

I believe I had a Seti@home classic account. I can go on the website and put my email address in, and I have my password. I get all my information as to all my past history and credits. Yet when I try to send them over to this new Bionic I cant. I do not have the clssic system installed anymore. Or do I still have the program. Yet when I go to the web page to put in all my information regarding my classic account email address, classic password and new seti@home key number. I get a message that tells me classic email address not found. But I can still login and get all my information under my email address and password that it says is non-exist. This new software really is a pain in the you know what. I just may have to pull out after 4 years of crunching. I hate to loose all my credits.

A person I know and myself are in the same boat, with the same outcome. I have written the devs on this issue. I await a reply.

check back in a few days, track me down and ask me.

tony

Just hi-jacked this to let recent poster's know Tony (mmciastro) has written to Dev's

And have yet to see a reply to either this issue or the needs of the 4 users at the help desk with similar attachment problems.

I figure I'm not in a big rush to fix my issue, but am getting concerned about the loss of those 4 users (2 of which I fear to have already lost). Patience is needed here. Not an unlimited amount however.

When I first came to BOINC about a year ago, I did NOT read the "Getting Started" section of this page: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_participate.php

I ended up "Creating" a New Account, thinking the instructions meant that this was the proper step to start running BOINC.

WRONG! I should have used the "Activate the account" link.

Eventually, after a few days, I began (slowly) to understand this. I ended up Activating my account and abandoning the "Created" account. Those credits ARE "lost forever".

Email addresses for me haven't changed since 1999, when I joined SETI.

Good Luck;

I have used the same email address for years. They are both the same. Do question about it. They are linked to my cable account. I recieve email from both seti classic and Boinc accounts. So I know they are right.

Next time, with some commas, full stops and other punctuation, who knows what people make of it.

I think I read you managed to run Seti through BOINC without so much as a problem, so you are ecstatic? :)

hi i thought id lost all my credits to but not so.all my old stats are all there but it just lets other persons know what you have done for units in the classic mode. all that cpu time :D 24-7 for 6 years ok i found that when you do your thing stting up this new program all said and done it takes a while for it to process all the info it seems to put you in the back of the bus!... i tried everything and no units or graphics ect. but then i thought id give it a chance and just let it run :D and over night i checked it out and wow! everything was there and working so i think i would just let it do its thing after a person fills in all the areas needed." give it a chance "

Is there some reason this was "unstickied"? I've been referring a lot of new users to this thread, and suddenly it vanished off to page 2...

I'll make three guesses.

0. No one reads it anyway.

1. People keep posting to it with new questions that have nothing to do with the subject.

2. Too many stickies.
