A possible answer was posted in this thread: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=17757 Have you checked that yet? We need to know what you have checked before we can try to help you further. It would be best to keep to one thread instead of starting a new one. |

Michael, Seti BOINC is working just swell at the moment for the rest of us (well, at least for me...). Uploads and downloads without any delay. I have the impression that something must be wrong with your client or your connection to Seti. It seems as if your client couldn't connect to the project. Can you give us more details? For instance: - If you run Seti on more than one computer (with a RAC of 445 most probably) - is it just one which won't connect? - If such computers are connected to the internet via a proxy - did you tell the BOINC manager the proxie's IP? - Did everything work well before? Was there anything changed in the configuration when failures began? - Did you attach to another project to see if it works? And - last but not least - did you look up things in Boinc WIKI (link below my signature)? :-)= Greybeard All about BOINC: BOINC-Wiki (by Paul D. Buck) |

This is most likely caused by a master file fetch error. If you do an update does it connect? If not, it could be because of the IP address change for the scheduler. If it is because if the IP address change, you need to flush all of the DNS caches that you can get your hands on (ipconfig /flushdns on windows machines, and restarting router appliances). Why do you change your name so often? To hide your shame? |

Why do you bother answering anyone, you are always negative in tone and downright rude to most Head Trool, er.. ah... Blank .. er.. ah.. Blank Req .. oops ... I mean Max Headroom. Why do you change your name so often? To hide your shame? Guess I'm not the only one with that opinion then eh? Good thing his massive total of 16 classic work units makes him easy to spot through the frequent name changes. Still..it's a shame someone 'on up' doesn't put an end to his less than sincere efforts to help. Might not seem like much, but if I were here..highly frustrated..asking a question because I'm stuck for a resolution. The very last thing I would need/expect/want is a canned condescending answer from a fool only looking to aggravate the situation. So much for a pleasant experience and transition into BOINC at that point. Add it all together and it might be enough to completely sour a person on the project. I just can't imagine the project admins allowing someone free range to run people off when the object should be to get as many people involved as possible. |
