i looked on the forum to see if this had allready been posted... couldn't find the exact same thing, anyway...

i still use the clasic seti@home cus i like the screensaver better ;)

i used bionic for about a week ages ago... then when back to the clesic but under my account it says:
SETI@home classic workunits
as of 15 March 2005 819
SETI@home classic CPU time
as of 15 March 2005 7,616 hours

but i've done 1068 work units and 9760 CPU time!

and it says my o/s is winxp sp1 but i'm on winxp sp2

Hello and welcome antman,

Snapshots of the number of crunched WUs were taken at the start of Boinc, and another one in March 05. A last one will be taken, when Classic will stop (or soon after that).
As there is no direct link between the two statistics databases of Classic and Boinc, an automatic actualisation is impossible (or at least too much effort for the meager time/money budget of the Berkeley crew).
For the details of the transition from Classic to Boinc look here.

Yes, its not as bad as a lot of people make out, and don't you agree the graphics look good.

To the first: yes!

And the second: If you want to go on searching for ET with Seti, yes as well.

The advantage (imho) is, you can crunch other important tasks as well on the same puter, and Boinc will take care of it (and they will keep your CPU warm in times of difficulties like now ;). Currently you can do the following:
- Search for gravitational waves
- Fold proteins
- Help to design the Large Hadron Collider @CERN
- Simulate the earth climate
- Search for generalized binary number systems

But that's just my personal view, I don't want to push you away from Seti ;)

no i used it for a week, thought the 3d moving grafix were a POS but that's just my idear, and it doesn't really matter now cus i'll have to use it anyway,

it would save time if ET just said hello O.ô lol
