Hi I installed Boinc some time ago and it's fine.
I'm still running Seti@home (Ver 3.08), Boinc claims it's running Setiathome Ver 4.09.
Are they both running at the same time and should I uninstall Seti@home Ver 3.08 so the Processor isn't shared to run both?. ie is Boinc actually also running its own Ver of Seti??

Yes if you run Boinc you should stop running Classic. BUT do not uninstall it, Boinc does has times where the system has growing pains and sometimes it will go down for a couple of day. During those times you can either run other Boinc projects or go back to Classic.

I've been running both Classic and BOINC for two years. Each uses 50% CPU. I have Classic as my screensaver. Currently Classic is v3.08 and BOINC is Core v4.19 SETI v4.09. They run concurrently, no problems. At these version levels on WinXP it works. Hope this helps. Wait, is that a signal ...

Hello, I have a related question too. How do I stop running classic without uninstalling it? They both keep running after I installed Boinc...

Create a text file (e.g. with notepad) in the SETI Classic directory, the content of this file doesn't matter, it can be empty.

The filename is the important part, it has to be

stop_after_send.txt

It will finish the current WU, send it to the server and then instead of requesting a new workunit it will stop.

I'm sorry, I have a follow-up question; can I make Seti Classic stop reminding me I need to remove the .txt file to get new results on every start-up?

Best way....Remove Seti@home from the Windows Start Up.
You can always add it anytime later if needed (when Boinc is down etc).
