That was an excellent movie with two great masters of comedy. Only Akroyd survives.

Didn't much care for the "sequel".

Did you know that Steven Speilberg played the Cooks County Assessor Clerk? The guy eating lunch when they show up to pay the taxes after one of the BEST car chases ever.

And in the "Almost an 80's Movie" category:
I just finished watching an American Classic!
Convoy - 1978
Ernest Borgnine and Burt Young!
Two UGLY Mother Truckers! lol

When it comes to my favorite 80's movies, well, "There can be only one!"

Nope, I didn't know Speilberg played that role. I of course recognized Ray Charles and James Brown though :D

Pawly Convoy is 2 years off but I'll let it slip ;)

Thanks for the tip. Beat Street has to be really deep, deep, 80's material. Rae Dawn Chong is one of the actresses in it and I'm a big fan of hers. She was in Commando, and another obscure but excellent movie from 1986, Soul Man.

Best Seller (1987)

Cop and writer Brian Dennehy is promised the "inside story" from hit man James Woods if he'll aid him in getting revenge against the corrupt civic leader who dispensed with his "services," but a sinister secret may kill their uneasy partnership before it's started. Intense thriller also stars Victoria Tennant, Paul Shenar.

Trailer

> Most 'Obviously' One of James Woods BEST imho . . . loved it - well written and cast / directed / DP'd . . .

It's definitely one of the more believable entries on the Break Dance Band Wagon that Hollywood rode for a while. Much More gritty and real. Tonnes of early Hip Hop talent too:

Melle Mel
Doug E. Fresh
Cool Herc
Africa Bambaataa
THe Soul Sonic Force
Kool Moe Dee

Very intense acting by James Woods in that one. Best Seller and Cop are my favorite James Woods movies. Woods was awesome in that one too.

Brian Dennehy was perfect for the role he portayed as well. You don't often see experienced actors like Dennehy in roles like that today.

Their Chemistry made it work so well . . . and THIS Film *SET* James' Career into a Starship round of Applause - and is Well Deserved for him, i might add . . .
