... I just tried to spell it the way it sounded. You should see my mom spell English words... OUCH! She also does spell them the way they sound. And when she tries to read them the way they are spelled... OUCH! That's even worse. I'm German btw, and my mom never learned English... Account frozen... |

I just tried to spell it the way it sounded. The term "Ouija" is derived from the French "oui" (for "yes") and the German/Dutch "ja" (also for "yes"). That explains it... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

I have a very dear friend that is a Russian living in Riga, Latvia. She tries her best and certainly does MUCH better with English than I could ever hope to do with speaking either Russian or Latvian, but there are times when I have to scratch my head for a minute trying to figure out just which word she's trying to use... :-) She's sweet and cute though, so it's ok... ;-) |

Cut & paste from another thread - The SETI Coven Matthew Lowe reminded me of another movie. Remember Maximum Overdrive (1986)? For 3 days in 1986, the earth passed through the tail of a mysterious comet. During that time, machines on earth suddenly come to life and terrorize their human creators. A small group of people in a truck stop, surrounded by "alive" semi-trailers, set out to stop the machines before the machines stop them. Talk about evil Machines A group of people in a desolate Truck Stop are held hostage by a gang of homicidal 18-wheelers. Account frozen... |

Murakami More Info Starring: Richard Thomas, John Saxon, Robert Vaughn, George Peppard, Darlanne Fluegel, Sybil Danning, Sam Jaffe, Morgan Woodward, Jeff Corey, Lynn Carlin A planet must be saved from the hooligans of intergalactic criminals. Jones, Topol, Max von Sydow, Timothy Dalton, Melody Anderson, Ornella Muti, Brian Blessed, Peter Wyngarde, Mariangela Melato, Richard O'Brien In spite of high budgeting, this film is nearly as silly as its predecessors in the 1930s. It is campy, but just misses the mark. Again, the Earth must be saved from its attackers. 1980 Galaxy Express 999 Action / Sci-Fi PG, 91 Minutes Director: Rintaro More Info Starring: Corey Burton, Fay McKay, Anthony Pope, Booker Bradshaw, Barry Seegar, B.J. Conway More Info Starring: Gary Collins, Robert Vaughn, Darren McGavin, James Hampton, Philip Abbott, Joseph Campanella, Tom Hallick, Steven Keats, William Schallert A damaged alien spaceship is kept a secret because presidential elections are just around the corner and revealing the existence of the spaceship (a satellite launched from a space shuttle collided with it) may influence the outcome of the elections. 1980 The Lathe of Heaven Sci-Fi TV, 105 Minutes Director: Fred Barzyk More Info Starring: Bruce Davison, Kevin Conway, Margaret Avery, Vandi Clark, Niki Flacks, Frank Miller, Peyton E. While Haber convinces himself that he is using Orr's dreams to eradicate illness, war, and racism, he is still playing God. The consequences are horrifying. 1980 The Return Sci-Fi N/R, 91 Minutes Director: Greydon Clark More Info Starring: Jan-Michael Vincent, Cybill Shepherd, Martin Landau, Raymond Burr, Neville Brand, Brad Rearden, Vincent Schiavelli In a New Mexico town, two children and an old man witness the coming of an alien spaceship and hang around for its return. A real turkey. 1980 Revenge of the Stepford Wives Sci-Fi TV, 100 Minutes Director: Robert Fuest More Info Starring: Sharon Gless, Julie Kavner, Audra Lindley, Don Johnson, Mason Adams, Arthur Hill Sandwiched between "The Stepford Wives" (1975) and "The Stepford Children" (1987), this is a mediocre offering about the strange goings-on among the robot-like wives in Stepford. 1980 Saturn 3 Sci-Fi R, 88 Minutes Director: Stanley Donen More Info Starring: Farrah Fawcett, Kirk Douglas, Harvey Keitel, Douglas Lambert, Ed Bishop, Christopher Muncke, Roy Dotrice While two scientists (Farrah Fawcett and Kirk Douglas) work to save Earth, an evil visitor (Harvey Keitel) interferes with their efforts. 1980 Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back Sci-Fi PG, 124 Minutes Director: Irvin Kirshner More Info Starring: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Frank Oz, Alec Guinness, James Earl Jones, Kenny(2) Baker, David Prowse, Peter Mayhew In this second "Star Wars" film, Luke, Leia, Lando, Chewbacca, Han, R2-D2 and C-3P0, along with the Rebel Alliance are on the ice planet Hoth. Luke travels to a distant planet to become a Jedi knight from Jedi Master Yoda in order to do battle with Darth Vader. Great special effects and good plot. 1980 Superman II Action / Sci-Fi PG, 127 Minutes Director: Richard Lester More Info Starring: Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, Ned Beatty, Jackie Cooper, Margot Kidder, Valerie Perrine, Sarah Douglas, Susannah York, Jack O'Halloran, Terence Stamp Superman is back, and this film is nearly as good as the first one. Superman (Christopher Reeve) is still fighting for law and order, and the battle is against three Kryptonian villains played by Terence Stamp, Jack O'Halloran, and Sarah Douglas. Great sport. 1980 Virus Sci-Fi PG, 155 Minutes Director: Kinji Fukasaku More Info Starring: Sonny Chiba, Chuck Connors, Stephanie Faulkner, Glenn Ford, Olivia Hussey, George Kennedy, Henry Silva, Bo Svenson, Robert Vaughn, Masao Kusakari Doctor Yamauchi (Sonny Chiba) wanders the frozen Earth after its near destruction from a deadly virus and nuclear war. They start out on their own by assembling their family–including a child and an uncle–from spare parts. 1981 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Comedy / Sci-Fi TV, 198 Minutes Director: Alan J.W. Bell More Info Starring: Simon Jones, Peter Jones, Joe Melia, Mark Wing-Davey, Martin Benson, David Dixon, Sandra Dickinson, Steve Conway, Cleo Rocos, Andrew Mussell A popular BBC radio series, based on Douglas Adams' novel, was followed by a TV series from which this miniseries was developed. The title refers to the electronic book that provides the knowledge necessary to navigate the galaxy. It tells the story of Arthur Dent (Simon Jones) who travels the galactic superhighway running across all sorts of beings and adventures. Lots of fun. 1981 Inseminoid Sci-Fi R, 90 Minutes Director: Norman J. Another movie that was so bad it was actually pretty good.... lmao. " I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick a*s . . . and I'm all out of bubble gum." There was this one scene where Piper was trying to get that one guy he worked with to put on those special glasses so he could see the aliens. Man that was great scene. |

Cool. You could probly buy it at almost the price to rent it from one of the Amazon vendors. I was thinking that I could rip it then send the file to you but that would be one huge file. |
