Traffic on the wire right now is worse than L.A. rush hour on a friday before a 3 day weekend, but you can see on the server status page that work is being downloaded, and some uploads are getting through, and once the traffic starts to drop everything will be fine.

Waiting is.

Agreed... I love crunching numbers... well .... i love having my computer crunch numbers for me. and everyone else.

I believe that downloads have a slightly higher priority than uploads.*

Thus during very busy times (like when the system comes back up after an outage), people who connect will get new workunits downloaded, but may not be able to upload their completed ones. They will eventually be uploaded, once the load on the system settles down a bit.

* The priorities are set this way because the users wanted it that way!
People complain very loudly when their computers run out of work to process. So downloading work to refill the queue was given priority over uploading completed results.
