i have this problem for weeks now and i have asked in maybe hundreds (ok, almost :)) of boards for it, but i seem to be the only one who has it... Installation of boinc ver. 4.20 or higher crashes with the error: "Object required" just at the beginning. normaly i dont have any problems with my pc or this windows. Because nobody could help me for weeks i made a video to show how it looks :P i'm afraid that in some weeks you need ver. 4.2x to keep on crunching as you already need 4.19 for einstein@home today...

thanks a lot...

MW,

When installing over previous Installation you must exit that installation. Double check in task manager to see if Boinc is stil running after exit including client. Stop all references. try again to install. Also make sure you don't have to instances of setup running.

If still a problem unistall (your WU's will stay dont worry)
Reboot Install current version.
