Personal background
I'm 20 years old, from germany and from April 1th 2005 i'm a student of physics at a public university.
So i'm especially interested in physics, astronomy and also other parts of sience.
Additional i like to read books, try myself a bit in coding (just startet with C++) and love music (heavy metal, some hard rock, some gothic, especially Iron Maiden, Metallica, In Flames, Schandmaul and others...).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Firstly i run seti because of my interest in sience and astronomy. I think its a very interesting project. Besides the scientific point of view its the biggest world-wide computation project what makes it very interesting, it has an incredible amount of resources AND everybody who participates is a volunteer who really wants to do his part to make the science go one step further.

One problem that i see is, that we are searching the same part of the sky for years and years and are at the moment more or less recomputing almost the same stuff we already did two or more times... so i hope that the Seti Project from the southern hemisphere is going to launch any time, so there is more motivation again because you are looking at parts that have never been looked at before (or not so detailed like seti@home would do)
