| I am 25, I am a student, and my major is astronomy. I am currently certifiying my school's astronomical observatory. Clear skies are uncommon in my territory, and it often interferes with my research. I have two cats; potentially three. I love coffee, travel, exploration, learning, Carl Sagan, the X-Files, anything humorous, Jim Henson flicks, and lately, caramel apples. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| Although no solid proof exists, when I consider the size of our universe, I have little doubt that there is a far more advanced, or perhaps even comparable intelligence sharing the vastness of its space with us. I think that much of mankind's progress can be attributed to a desire to understand not only our origins, but also what we are capable of becoming. What insights might an extraterrestrial intelligence be able to offer to these questions? I run SETI@ home because I want to contribute to our exploration of the unknown. |
