Personal background
I live in a small village in southern Ontario, Canada. I am retired Air Force, having served 22 yrs in the joint Canada/USA defence system known as NORAD. I have operated large RADAR systems for the detection of non-friendly intruders, assistance of commercial and civil aircraft in distress, and drug interdiction missions throughout North America. This during the cold war era. Nowadays, I no longer worry about tracking Soviet bombers or downed A/C in the ocean or drug smugglers but, devote my time to reading sci fi novels and sailing my boat on Lake Huron. Restoring antique automobiles has also become a passion.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have been assimilated. I answer to the collective.

How often does one have an opportunity to participate in the making of history. It is an honour to contribute to a cause, that humans were destined to follow. We have gained more knowledge in our own lifetimes, than has been learned in all recorded history. This is one small step in the thirst to accelerate that learning curve....to some day learn from other beings and continue that quest for knowledge.

Lets have a more visible public drive to recruit more computing power for the ultimate quest.
