| I am a retired US Army officer (30+ years) and have served around the world. I am married and have one child. Currently, we live in the Richmond, VA area. I have always been fascinated with astronomy, a subject that was fostered by my high school computer science teacher, Mrs. Gretchen Lynn who presented me with a copy of "Cosmos" by Carl Sagan upon graduation in 1981. I am a full fledged computer geek and follow all things science and technology in the news. I am now a cybersecurity and software professional continuing to serve. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I run SETI@home in the hope that we will make contact with another world sometime during my lifetime. Given the enormity of the universe and the miniscule odds that humanity, as we know it, is the only sentient life out there, I believe we will eventually find others out there who are wondering about their place in the universe as well. If we keep looking, we will find something beyond ourselves. |
