Personal background
Hello From the rebuilding city of Christchurch, New Zealand. I'm not really sure what to say about me, execept that I enjoy working with computers and other technology such as freeview set top boxs etc. When not at my pc, I enjoy walking on the beach, attending concerts at the near by park and shopping to name but a few hobbies and interests. I guess I am a bit of a sci-fi enthutiast and welcome the idea that somewhere out there E.T. is lurking, with any luck has a bit more dress sence than just plain green lol.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I like the idea of my computer doing something useful in its spare time. As a long term work unit processor, I guess I like the idea that someone might get their 15 minutes of fame from finding something useful in a work unit. I also wonder how long will it take for yesterdays science fiction to become todays science - fact for example, the Faster than Light Drives of Battlear Galacticia or the tecknoogy of "The LiBerator" from Blakes 7 (a late 1970' early 1980's BBC v series written mostly by Terry Nation>, so that we could go looking for E.T. in prolonged space voyages, rather than just sending Robots to Mars, looking a bit further a field & traveelling further into the Milky Way.
