Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm quite sure we're not alone. Not convinced that an alien race will use the same or similar technology to ourselves, nor that they'll be detectable this way - but that's no reason not to try. If we're not in this universe to communicate why are we here at all?
Also I have a secret yearning to watch the effect that the discovery of ET would have on world religions. A well deserved kick up the @$$ hopefully (purely a personal opinion of course :) )
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
