I mean, look at my stats. It's not like my computer is doing all that much anyway, but, to quote Mr. Scott, "I'm giving her all she's got". I just don't understand why even this minuscule contribution can't get through...

Yeah, well, it's disheartening to watch my computer grind away on SETI calculations, and then never be able to upload the results; there are other projects that I could be working on (though none that I'm more interested in seeing succeed). So I've suspended SETI project calculations until the current problems seem resolved. That will help with the backlog when you start accepting uploads, and allow additional useful (as in, I can upload the results) calculations to be done for other projects.

Do you see a fault in this reasoning?
3) Questions and Answers : Windows : setiathome_5.15_windows_intelx86.exe is using 98% of my CPU (Message 557443)

My computer is lagging badly, even during word processing. I looked at my Windows Task Manager "Processes" listing, and I have 100% CPU usage, with 98-99% of that being setiathome_5.15_windows_intelx86.exe. The priorty for this program is set as Low.

Under General Preferences for BOINC Manager, I have the following settings:
Do work while computer is in use? no
Do work only after computer is idle for 3 minutes

Any ideas why SETI has hijacked my computer? Could it be an extra-terrestial being has taken control? Could it be a worm or trojan horse embedded in a signal received from the stars that my computer was analyzing..... Or could there be a more mundane explanation?
