Want to have CUDA 2.3 working? Where can I Dl the needed files?

Hmmm, I'm just confused now. So we can update our CUDA with the 3rd party appl DLL files? I can see that Nvida drivers will not.

All I know is that last post "Working as Expected (Jul 13 2009)" with 210 replies gave me a headache once I was done reading it. If we can put a man on the moon then we can fix this bandwith database issue. We just need the NASA $1 billion funding. Oh wait....DAMN! In the mean time use the force Matt!

Sutaru ,

Thanks for the thread from what I have read, I CAN update my EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 to a higher version of Cuda.

Joseph asked a question on the board titled CUDA version that was answered as a possible "no." I thought I was going to be stuck at CUDA 1.3.

Hi Peter Farrow,

I would suggest that you download NVIDIA’s free GPU over clocking tool, it has a lot of the answers to your questions in an easy to use GUI (I've bumped up the original message in this forum for you to click on) search for "EVGA Precision Over clocking Tool v1.7.1" or just click http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=53202. Also, per some of the members, you don't even need an NVIDIA card to use it on some GPU.

Regarding the quest to over clock, this tool will let you test it first to prevent OS crashes. As for MHz increments, I found bumping it up in 10 MHz increments at a time and then waiting about 10 seconds for the system to catch up works best. For the temps, you can use the build in fan adjustments. I'm at 80% but may increase since it is summer.

And last down load NVIDIA CUDA 2.0, it will crunch your SETI CUDAs faster! (agnawt added the link for you)

Hi There Weasel,

No problem my friend, here is the link to Nvidia capable CUDA cards. http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_learn_products.html

Just remember to read what the GPU power supply requirements are for the card(s) and if you have PCI-E motherboard connections and the room. I just installed a new card in April so hit me up for knowledge!

Also, here is the GPU CUDA driver page: http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html

Hi Bloodrain,

It's just you.....

Just kidding, it's everyone; the boys over at SETI are having database issues and are tweaking it again until all starts to run smoothly again.

At certain times this week I have not received AP WUs, SET@Home(CUDA) WUs and am currently only running SETI@Home WUs.

SETI happens!

Whenever you notice that you are not receiving certain types of work units(WU), please go to the "Message boards : Technical News," and your answer will be there for you.

Dude tell me about it! I can't close BOINC unless I reboot my computer but I have an easy get around for everyone.

Right click on the BOINC icon and select "Snooze." You will notice that the Seti work units will disappear in the "Windows Task Manager." Do what you need to do then go back and unclick "Snooze" again.

Running AP unit on 1 CPU yet the other CPU is running S@H; 1 CUDA running on 1 GPU. So Why not 2 CPUs with 2 AP units?

Hi Ageless ;)

Forgive me I'm tired and after reading threads, I only see big technical words (my new job is over-clocking my brain).

I haven't had time to tweak anything yet with Ramster's files, I only have BOINC installed. I noticed a new version of BOINC Client is out so I have updated to 6.6.31. But before I go the next step (Ramster), I also noticed earlier today that I'm only running 1 Astropulse on my CPU and the other CPU is running SETI@home; 3rd is of course the GPU. This must have started afer I upgraded from version 6.4.7 and deleted my configs (Old message at bottom of this message). I know this is an easy one where I probably place a config file somewhere in my prefs.

I have installed the Nvidia 185.35 drivers and "cudadriver_2.2_winxp_32_185.85_general.exe"

Applications are set to:
SETI@home Enhanced: yes
Astropulse: yes
Astropulse v5: yes

38) Questions and Answers : GPU applications : What and Where is the Cuda 2.2 mod ?? (Message 895588)

185.85 WHQL driver is the latest last I looked, that is If one's using windows XP and You are, I run 185.85 under XP x64 and yes I use the 2.2 dll files, Raistmers V11 Cross Watch Seti app and I don't use the Team mod(obsolete) as I use Boinc 6.6.20 instead of something older or newer(so far, But that might change to something newer, maybe). You need to upgrade to 6.6.20, Unless You want to run the obsolete Team Mod and the equally obsolete 6.4.7 as 6.6.20 was the recommended version and I run It with no problems here.

Hey Super Joker,

Sounds good! I'll upgrade to Boinc 6.6.20 and then add on the 2.2 Dll files from Raistmers V11 Cross Watch Seti app.

If you're already running with an app_info.xml file, then it's an easy and worthwhile upgrade. You need to upgrade to the Nvidia 185.25 drivers first, and then just replace the runtime and FFT files (cudart.dll and cufft.dll) with the ones from Raistmer's post - follow Claggy's link. Because the files have the same names as the ones you're already using, no other change is needed - you do not have to edit app_info.xml

"Error Will Marshall! ERROR!

All my CUDAs have gone to "Compute error," so I have placed back my original "cudart.dll" and "cufft.dll" files.

I have installed the latest Nvidia 185.35 drivers and I then replaced only the "cudart.dll" and "cufft.dll" files from Raistmer's post via Claggy's link. My BOINC directory is "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu" directory. I only saw 2 Dll files in the Zip. Perhaps I overlooked something. Regarding the "runtime" post part, not sure what that is. I installed my Raistmer's files back on March 15th or so, perhaps a newer version is out.

Help!

Dave

Here are my details after I placed back in the original 2 Dll files.
All back to working correctly.
