Hey, have anyone with a Mac been successful with downloading a wu with BOINC? If you have or haven't, could you post your general prefs settings, how many wu you've downloaded (if you have), your Mac/OS, & connection type, and see if it could help the rest of us Macies be successful in getting this thing to work (& start downloading wu :p )? Best wishes to SETI & the future, Eric wu downloaded: 0 wu completed: 0 average per day: 0 |

Yes I have had success with BOINC on both SETI and Predictor@Home. iBook 600 running OS 10.3.4 (Panther) 256 mb of RAM. 20 gig hard drive with 5 gig available. Use no more than 3 GB Leave at least 2 GB Use no more than 75% of total space Currently Panther OS 10.3.x is required for the standard compile, but Team MacNN has compiled a version that will run on 10.2.x (Jaguar). See the Jaguar topic. The best Macintosh team ever assembled. |

Eric, I downloaded seti for 10.2.8 from here - http://members.dslextreme.com/~readerforum/forum_team/boinc.html two days ago and have received credit for 136 wu's so far. There was also a version for 10.3 available. Happy alien hunting! |

(with SETI not the OS upgrade which took 7 days and a lot of tricks) I have downloaded several wu and returned several I now have 104 credits and I show that I have contacted the servers 21 times. It did take about 5 days for my first credit to show up but then I seemed to get more every 6 hours for the next few days. Dave |

First, sorry about my "bad" english. I'm from Germany. I have a iBook G4/800 Combo and a PowerMac G4/800. SetiBOINC runs on both Mac's with OS 10.3.4 perfectly. Somtimes there were no Wu's, but this problem did we all have. ;-) I missed only one thing. The GUI of SetiBOINC. M.f.G, HaQuiX www.setiboard.com --> deutsches Seti-Forum |
