I agree 100%! Instead, we're "mushrooms" (kept in the dark and fed $h1T).

Can anybody tell me how many WU's they've processed? Nope.. That part of the site is shut down. How about a "snapshot 2" for Seti 1 data? They direct us to Seti 1 if "no work" but fail to understand that a snapshot over a month old just didn't cut it! And they want us to do more SETI Classic?

You missed the point! Just "Thanks to to the the folks that provide us with all the real computing power - the Chrunchers!" would be a drastic improvement!

One or two lines.. Right up at the top!

Right now it's "We're doing real science, and we only thank those that give grant money".

thank you AZ Woody.
you get the point.

"thanks to all the donators of cpu time"
might be enough.
i do not care about the actual message, we should be mentioned.

No problem! I got 13+ years of CPU time (and a few days short of 5 years real time) crunching Seti Classic. Heffed seems to be a BOINC cheerleader - UCB can do no wrong!

I can care less if I'm mentioned as a sponsor or not. I know I'm a contributor.

What I would like is enough respect from the project by seeing them post a daily work day progress update. It seems we have to guess on what's going on.

A lot of us are on dial-up, with single phone lines. We can't let Boinc Seti run 24/7 (on line). We have to babysit Boinc to get/send work units. It's frustrating to log on, try to get Wu's, and see "no work from project, deferring communications for 1 hour". Do I stay on line, tyeing up my phone, to have the best chance of getting more work?

Once again you have made an excellent demonstration of 'How to show your ass!'

Well Done Sir!

I don't think Heffed missed the point at all... The VAST majority of the 'volunteers' here are humble enough to not need some sort of 'Honorable Mention'...

Hmmm... you've donated around 2x the cpu time that I have but you only have around 700 more wu's processed... ( and you joined the 'Project' around a year ahead of me )... I would think that even you would be able to see the kind of problem that presents...

And while you have been quite 'vocal' as of late... you are apparently a relative newcomer to these boards... both here and on the 'Classic' site... this debate has gone on for the better part of 2.6 years... and I don't recall seeing you post even once before the end of '03... where were you when this was being decided, 'lil 'bro?...

Again, agree 100%!

In less time than it takes to update "user of the day", they could add news as far as the status of BOINC/SETI, considering how it's been since the launch! But to me, the first thing is if UCB considers crunchers as "key sponsors".. It's a mind set, and right now, Crunchers are not given a consideration! (no grant money....)

We're just mushrooms!

Chippy, you really are an ARSE...

Chippy, "eat Crow", or "Buzzard" in your case! It's the beta folks like you that lead to the current situation! The figging SW wasn't ready!

OK Chippy...

What was done (in deatil) this past weekend to try to stop the Titanic BOINC from sinking? Give us details as you are "in the know"...

Tell us about why we can't see "results" based on user or machine, as you are "in the know".

Tell us why credits aren't being granted on results that have had "3 sucessful returns" for 4-5 days! as you are in the know!

How many ACTIVE folks are on BOINC, as the only word we hear is "more than the beta" (Duhhhhhhhhh!), as you are "in the know"!

What's being done by UCB to fix this! (new HW, functions to be disabled, etc) as you are "in the know".

If and when "snapshot 2" of Classic will occur, as "you are in the know"..

Buzzard, you can only try to peck at someone but can't provide a bit of detail! You are doing nothing worthwhile!

It also means "a considerably sized male organ", or an old chevy wagon with wood sides!

Go away kid...

Woody...

Really... it took you that long to type that rant... and you've been on the keys for some 25 years now, right...

Look... You are a 'DumbAss' and the VAST Majority of these fine people that read these boards realize that fact...

And they see that you are just spitting sour grapes, because you aren't getting the kind of recognition that 'YOU' think that you deserve...

You need to stick your head in the can, and maybe you will have a recollection of what real air smells like...

>It also means "a considerably sized male organ", or an old chevy wagon with >wood sides!

Actually... that def refers to a 'hardened male organ'... it does not make a reference to any size... so in your book... your 2 incher is the same as Jonh H. 16... ummmm.... RIGHT...

Man, this thread is getting good, it's kinda like having J.Q. back on the boards. But you know someone will complain about it now.

Can I cheer for both sides?

:)

Chippy became "attached" to me after he couldn't respond to JQ...

He's a sad soul.. A snot nosed brat who's sole goal is to make others look bad (he posts nothing useful).... Heck, that's his contribution, but even slugs have a purpose in the grand scheme! Notice this gif is a buzzard! (it pecks at what it thinks is dead meat!)
